I found this book at a flea market and since I had about a half hour to kill, I decided to pick up this book and read it because of the title and since I will be going to Iceland soon. Since I am a 21 year old male, I thought I might find out a few things about the women.

What I got from it:

1. I looked up some background on Roosh and I found his website. It was offensive. This guy compares women and says what's what is wrong with them in each culture he visits and determines values by "how slutty the girls are". Some of you may see this as "just stating the facts" but I don't. I see this as bitter, cruel judgment towards all women not just the ones he experienced. Already I had a bad impression of him before I read the book.

2. The author who calls himself Roosh, in my opinion cannot respect these women in general. Obviously, he did not grow up in Iceland or in the other Scandinavian countries who also practice sexual acts in an open manner. I'm from the United States so I do not know first hand how "the system" works but to me the Iceland method makes sense even though I personally probably would not participate in it. Who am I to judge how the women of another country act? Roosh certainly feels like a judge here in this book.

3. Not only does Roosh seem to disrespect women in general but he seems to be entrapped too much in his own culture to understand that not everything in the world works like he sees it. Growing up in the United States and in a Catholic household/school setting, I was told the right way to do things is date-marry-make family. This is probably what I'm going to do but surely there is more than one way to skin a cat.

Roosh advises other men to rape women in this book. Be warned.

"While walking to my place, I realized how drunk she was. In America, having sex with her would have been rape, since she legally couldn't give her consent. It didn't help matters that I was relatively sober, but I can't say I cared or even hesitated."

This book is a masterpiece. Roosh is up there w Hemingway and Faulkner. His anecdotes are both powerful and poignant and his description of women in Iceland is both funny and spot on. Really, this book is a prize winner and I am not sure why it lacks greater acknowledgment.

I just finished reading Bang Iceland.

Its very interesting and worth a buy even if you don't ever want to go to Iceland simply because of Roosh's description of the island and the social culture there. Its as close to Brave New World as I've ever heard of in real life. If anything I could see passages from this book fitting into sociology classes very easily.

Basically there's a massive hookup culture and nobody really dates on the island. People just get very very drunk and then hook up. Apparently the Icelanders are very unsocial until they get booze in them.
Roosh talks about the lack of connection he felt with those girls and how he felt socially isolated in the island.

There's a lot of great talk about logistics and the type of game you need for Iceland(basically really simple game, and having an after party afterwards). Lots of information on bars and clubs too.

Iceland seems like a place that I would want to check out of curiosity for a couple of weeks(If just out of a desire to see this sort of culture). Check out Roosh's book and decide for yourself.

The book was a bit outdated but I assume that is expected for one that is 4 years old. Some of the things stated in the book are a bit racist. On page 76 Roosh states "If a girl likes black or "edgy" guys,". I guess to Roosh all black guys are "edgy".
Many of his hookups are with inebriated women. If I knew that before I purchased the book along with his slightly racist comments I would not have bought and read this book. As such, I can not recommend this book.

This dudes pickup lines included "What time does the bar close?" - "Can you watch my stuff? I heard this is an unsafe area". If you've never developed ways to break the ice with women, this book is not going to help you pick them up. It also depicts Icelandic women as average at best, so why even go there to bang them. Go to Vegas.

For me, Bang Iceland is a thought-provoking, cautionary tale, but one that presents the Country as a challenge that begs to be answered.

My idealistic dreams of the place were shattered when early on, I was hit by the now seemingly obvious revelation that game sometimes needs to be drastically dampened and modified. Time to develop a new skill-set, always fun.

As usual with Roosh, we get an honest, realistic point of view. It feels like a genuinely open account of solo game abroad. There's no bull, we get both highs AND lows. It's a ruthless, yet endearing, portrayal of solo game, which can obviously be a daunting task in an alien environment like Reykjavík. I applaud his bravery for these pioneering scouting trips, which are saving me countless hours of research.

We also get bang-on observations of Icelandic culture and tastes. Specific bars, and the optimum times to strike, even their racial preferences (which could come in useful for me as I'm black and English). There's also a great list of useful tourist info, food and drink prices etc, with helpful comparisons to Scandinavia (Copenhagen's one of my favourite places... stop laughing).

Simply put; THE comprehensive guide to arm yourself with before going into battle on the ice.

If you're thinking of going to Iceland, you'll need this in your armory.

You've got no-one to blame other than yourself if you don't.

Also, Last Call Game. CHALLENGE ACCEPTED.

Keep on writing; your insights are really helping me out, kind of like a "Game Genie". Get it? I am funny.
