Top reviews from the United States

This author is obviously a remarkably astute member of U.S. law enforcement who fully understands the inner workings of drug detection/interdiction. He seems to have surreptitiously taken great strides in personally seeking out what he demonstrates as the root of all crime in our society...the drug trade--and takes it steps further, providing solutions that result in considerably increased safety on our streets & significant monetary benefits to our very own communities.

Officer Haines introduces us to the pioneers of a new method of drug interdiction, detailing each of their stories with deliberate and humble approbation.

He is clearly passionate about the opportunity for all of us, citizens & civil servants alike, to get involved & be proactive with our local law enforcement & then sit back & watch as the rewards for their efforts in furthering this method come to fruition within our own communities.

His intrinsic style of writing is so fluent it begs you to finish, making it a quick and fascinating read for anyone.

The negative reviews written in September 2014 were in response to a grossly spun series by a reporter with the Washington Post riding the wave of the post-Ferguson anti-police rhetoric. In Roads has inspired thousands of law enforcement officers to become engaged in major criminal interdiction to protect their communities from the primary source of all crime. In contradiction to some of the reviews and the Post report, this book clearly shows Haines' desire for asset forfeiture reform, transparency, and application; to recover millions of dollars in criminal proceeds and return it to the communities from which it is stolen.

Get the book, get the truth.

Excellent read. I was skeptical of the other lower reviews as they were all written within a few days of each other. The author highlights points that most law enforcement officers know- drugs are the largest contributor to crime in the US- and does so with statistical data and experience from various practitioners in this field. This would be a very eye opening read for civillians and is a great resource for law enforcement who work in interdiction assignments as well as the regular patrol officer.

A frightening view at how some law enforcement officers think. Though the author tries to hide his obvious contempt for constitutional rights and other "inconveniences" to his behavior, the message is clear: The roads are not safe for average people to be on when these bounty-hunting, corrupt officers are on the prowl.

The book, replete with grammar and spelling errors, was a huge disappointment. If this is what law enforcement has been reduced to, it is a sad day in America.

For those criticizing this book and its writer, you must not have grasped the message he is sending. This book provides us with a lawful and effective method to stop the drug problem plaguing our nation everyday. All officers/deputies/troopers reading this review I encourage you to read this excellent piece and draw from it the motivation to hit the roadways and hunt down the drug mules running dope into your jurisdictions everyday.
