Wellness at Warp Speed: Your Health, Your Destiny, Your Choice Hardcover – October 1, 2007

3.5 3.5 out of 5 stars 13 ratings

Inspirational speaker, pioneering physician, and international healthcare consultant, Dr. Noah McKay hit the limits of conventional medicine when he was hospitalized with heart failure in 1989. Desperate for a cure he was told was not possible, he began delving into quantum science and the formulas of Einstein, Heisenberg, and Bell. In Wellness at Warp Speed, Dr. McKay shares the hard-won results of his study. In lay terms, he explains the actions of atoms and subatomic particles in the body, which travel at “warp” speed, or the speed of light. Many of the advances in high-speed medical diagnostics — for example, the CT, PET, and MRI scanners — are attributable to the science he describes in this book. But Dr. McKay goes further in presenting a powerful case for attaining robust health and a sense of well-being by applying that same science to steering the light-speed operations occurring constantly within one’s body.

I appreciate this approach to understanding the healing power available to each of us. Far too little modern medicine, guidance and counseling, shows awareness of the full power of life. I have written a more than thousand page, strangely similar, book that is no better than this one. Well done, dr. O, you advanced medicine greatly.

The reviews of this book built my expectations pretty high & then the writer himself kept referring to the wondrous teaching he would reveal that would lead to "whole health" when applied ... so I read & read & read & all I found was the advice to "not talk about yr illness" & then to "change" - change yr life, job, friends, family, place that you live & that "travel" was a great healer all by itself with jet travel being highly recommended ... what the ?!

Come on ... sure you can experience some relief when you change yr immediate circumstances but these changes are NOT permanent in the case of genuine illness, physical or mental - we all know about the power of the Placebo Effect (known to persist for a matter of months).

It is more an account of his own personal experiences, which are quite substantial, but which are only true for his own self with regard to being able to benefit others.

I really loved and embraced Dr. Noah’s heroic effforts to make such break throughs in modern medicine and the way He speaks is nothing short of rivoting and inspirational !
“You really have to just love this man .”

I have given this book to friends and family on many occasions. It is an inspiring read on well-being rather than just another book on minutia which is already available. Dr. Noah's approach wraps together teachings from traditional east/west medicines as well as other disciplines, spirituality and philosophies. His teachings improve self-awareness and self-determination by breaking down the disconnect between one's physical health and what is possible with greater connectiveness and energy flow. Better health can evolve rapidly by removing our artificial barriers between our cellular and our greater selves. I was fortunate to have attended his weekend workshops and experienced the sense of well-being attained through his teaching in those healing groups.

Dr. Noah was one of the most brilliant men I have ever met and he touched the lives of so many. He has been gone now for over a decade and I still lament what a great loss Dr. Noah has been for humanity. Gone too soon, it is hard to imagine how much more he had to give.

Shouldn't it be either "Dr." or "M.D.?"

I really wanted to like this book, because I heard McKay speak on NPR and agree with most of what he is promoting. (Western medicine is not the culmination & epitome of healing. When it comes to your health and well-being, it's better to trust your own instincts than an MD who is treating you like nothing more than a collection of symptoms and a receptacle for his pharmaceutical suppliers' products. Your mind and your emotions have a lot to do with your physical health or lack of the same. Hospitals are not always the best place to recover from illness. Quantum physics may explain "miraculous" recoveries from illnesses that are usually fatal. Etc. Etc.)

Unfortunately, reading this book is like being invited to a dinner...and having your host offer you nothing more than a detailed description of the meal he ate yesterday. Some readers of this book are hungrier than I am, and therefore will be more disappointed than I am. There is a distinct lack of substance to this book.

I gave it a point for the chapter on quantum physics and how it relates to wellness. I took a point away because of the photos of Ghandi, Martin Luther King, Jr, and Nelson Mandela on the pages where McKay describes his year in prison. (Such nerve, comparing himself to those men, when he was imprisoned because of insurance billing fraud.) It got a point because of the unusual design of the pages, and another for the reproductions of McKay's paintings...and lost one due to the hideous cover design. Another point for the recommended reading list at the end. Hopefully one or more of those books will provide some real information.

When you are sick who is the most important person to cure what ails you? Wouldn't it be your doctor? Wrong! That person is you!

Noah McKay is a doctor who graduated from the Albert Einstein School of Medicine and was doing well in is chosen profession but then the unexpected hit: At the age of thirty-three Dr. McKay came down with the terminal illness cardiomyalgia. He was given only months to live by the doctor treating his condition. Then Noah's intuition took over. Seemingly out of nowhere he decided he would go to on vacation to Mazatlán to seek rest and respite. And while in Mazatlán Noah came across a yogi who, after hearing about Noah's condition, introduced him to the breath of fire exercise. Thus began Noah McKay's recovery...

In Wellness at Warp Speed: Your Health, Your Destiny, Your Choice Dr. Noah McKay brings home what he has learned in his life; from his medical training, two decades of practice, his own self-healing, other holistic approaches to health and healing as well as his own personal tragedy - having done time in federal prison due to a plea bargin for billing fraud. The author not only lets you know his own story but also takes pains to explain much of the science of quantum physics which lies behind our bodies' healing processes.

I was originally recommended this book by a friend of mine who is a "health nut" and I found the book informative and easy to read. I would love to have seen more examples in the book of people who have actually healed themselves because quite often I learn best by looking at the examples of the successes and failures of others. But again, maybe this wasn't the purpose Noah McKay had in mind. If so, I would like to see a follow up to this book in the future that focuses more on this aspect of healing. I look forward to it!
