Needed more Joe action after Cobra Civil War? Rest assured, you'll get it here. A realistic feeling to the military set-ups and well thought out characters. Artwork is of high standard and the story lines flow nicely. Looking forward to Volume 2...

    email from amazon:

"Thank you for your pre-order purchase of "G.I. Joe: Retaliation." Because of your purchase from Amazon.com, you are receiving this bonus offer for a free Kindle download of the graphic novel "G.I. Joe Cobra Command." ".

WHAT?! a free book? But wait, read carefully:

"a free Kindle download of the graphic novel"...

At amazon web page for "bonus offer":
"Kindle Price: $7.99 includes free wireless delivery via Amazon Whispernet"

isn't all kindle ebooks free to download after you pay for the ebook?

    Talk about misleading advertising.

If it was a free ebook I might have downloaded and read it. I never watched the cartoon but I love action movies. The movie is a good movie, use the $7.99 toward buying the movie... but wait... to have this offer you already bought the movie....

I give it 1 star because of misleading advertising that borders on false advertising.

    Update:
    Czechsaint,
Ok tried it and you are correct, will give promotional discount making price $0.00. Since this is a offer only for those who already bought the movie what a strange way to give a free ebook. You would think the web page would indicate somewhere that it is free, that a discount would be applied. Or better yet since you need to have received the email about the free ebook why not just show free on web page.

Amazon does have other ebooks that are free and show it on the web page without having to apply a discount at checkout. And since ebooks are 1-click to order items you don't even get to see an invoice before placing order.

What a strange way to do it.

I changed the number of stars from 1 to 3 since I haven't read it yet but the ebook does end up being free.

Unlike the other action movies that came out in the weeks before and after, this one kept the action going throughout the movie. Of course with Amazon Pre-order, the price is always the best at release without have to shop the internet or drive all over town

I got the promotional email too. If you actually "purchase" this kindle ebook and got the promotional email, you get a credit of $7.99. So when you look at your order it first adds the $7.99 and then subtracts it, so it's becomes free. I actually haven't read it yet but wanted to point this out as soon as possible in case people didn't read the comment in the other review. I admit that the webpage is confusing but I took a chance knowing that if I was charged I could just contact Amazon to get it fixed.

I plan to update this review after I've had a chance to read it. I glanced at it quickly and it looked okay. I personally didn't like the style of art. In the end it's free and it's 98 pages long not including the art gallery at the back. That's pretty lengthy for a free comic so it a pretty cool.

Awesome! Not bad at all for a free book. Chuck Dixon is one of my favorites. The art was very enjoyable as well. I highly recommend this book.
