Frank is an iconic figure in the Flathead Valley of Northwest Montana where he recently retired as managing editor of the Daily Interlake newspaper; a popular daily for locals that ,for 18 years, featured his lively, weekly commentaries on local, state and national politics sparked with a generous dash of history, humor, literature and just plain common sense. An unashamed conservative, his pieces always encouraged lively, nonpartisan debate and op-ed participation from folks of all persuasions.
“The Media Matrix” is a compilation of his editorials from 2005-2018 that incrementally and candidly convey the good, the bad and the evil of a media force that envelopes us so completely on a daily basis that we are unaware that “our beliefs and opinions are being shaped and molded” by it. While some emphasis is placed on Fake News, one is also made fully aware of deceitful agendas that aim to silence patriotic Americans while corralling them toward an alternate reality that mocks conservative thinking, smacks of socialism & threatens to eliminate our most precious freedoms. Frank’s writing is truly an ethical, art form that rests high on a pedestal unattainable to most aspiring journalists. Open Frank Miele’s book, “The Media Matrix”, to any page and be inspired!
Have you ever met anyone who insists that they're sane, everyone else is crazy? Did you believe them? If so then this book is for you. All, I mean ALL the media lies, lies, lies about Trump and the Republicans (except for FOX, of course.) To give you some idea of hoe "unbiased" the author is I read an editorial by him that compared cast Trump as a modern day Washington, or Lincoln or Kennedy. Honest, I'm not kidding. Oh heck, let's just include the quote. "This is a president for the times we live in. Try to imagine the founding of our nation without George Washington to steady it. Try to picture the outcome of the secession of the Southern states without Abraham Lincoln there to stand against it. Think of the Apollo moon shot without John Kennedy to launch it." That should tell you what's in the book better than any description I could give. It's just a fever dream about how you can't believe anything you read or hear (sound familiar?) because it's all a liberal bias and lies. Give this thing a hard pass unless you've bought the MAGA con hook, line and sinker.
I began reading Frank Miele some 10+ years ago when I was attracted to the title of one of his columns while searching the internet. I was immediately astonished that something as sophisticated came from a Mid-Western editor of a small town newspaper called the Daily Inter Lake published out of Kalispell, Montana. I soon found that when matched against others of the time, Mr. Miele exuded ideas of diamonds from the Heartland of America against the ideas of fool’s gold from the major papers of the NE.
One can ignore reality, but one cannot ignore the consequences of ignoring reality; and, that is the style you will find in the author’s fundamental thinking and comments, and that is what makes them so valuable for all of America. Many are now published in the first three volumes of “The Heartland Diaries,” that gathers real time history of the Progressive movement’s subversion of the Constitution. The author is consistent with a stark warning to our Republic: Follow the Constitution.
What is so alluring about Mr. Miele’s “Heartland Diary” entries is that they come from the soul, they are thoroughly researched, and they always have a critical point that causes the reader to evaluate his own opinions. That is one of the major clues of a solid thinker — soul in his writing that stands the test of time. I now vouch for his soul having read them once again.
The readings in “Heartland Diaries” are a serial history beginning with the advent of the 9/11 terrorist attack that briefly united all of America and then fell apart because of the Progressive lust for power. Progressives are degrading Western Civilization from inside our Constitutional Democratic walls through the “Political Correctness’” that destroys Good and substitutes Evil. They have set out to recreate America and the author takes that head-on throughout the “Heartland Diaries” within the administrations of Bush, Obama, and Trump. Reading these weekly articles will give one great insight into our country from the Middle of America that is continuously rebuffed by the Elites from the Far West Coast and the Northeast corridor.
Frank Miele, one of our nation’s most erudite editor, has created a true history of the political thoughts of the American people since 9/11 with the publishing of the “Heartland Diaries.” It is far and beyond the scope of anything else that I have seen published or read. It is educative, truthful, and helpful to all in sorting out their thoughts about the political time-bombs that we now harvest with the divisiveness among us that has been sown during the past two decades.
The author’s single attribute of a principled search for truth is so lacking by others in journalism, even though they have been given a special Constitutional mandate to protect the public. Mr. Miele comes to the party almost alone in his efforts to inform. And, that in my opinion, makes him one of the outstanding and finest examples of his profession. He, unlike others, never blinks at the truth!
Lastly, “Heartland Diaries” is a Tour de Force that makes excellent reading and should encourage productive discussion as it is a picture of our country’s last twenty years of political turmoil. It will become a document for our early twenty-first century political history as it tells a story from the perspective of small town America located in a corner of America’s Heartland. It is loaded with sanity! Enjoy, RLS
