A magical experience for the open heart human

I chose five stars because this is a must read for anyone and everyone. Okay it’s kind of a trip down the rabbit hole with all of the miraculous events going on, however someone told me to read it and imagine Sri Yogananda is actually with me, hear his voice (best advice)! This book opens your eyes to look for and see the divine all around you. I’m not surprised that a pioneer of the internet loved this book and had it given as a gift at his funeral. All in all, this book tugs at your heart as well as your mind my advice read it, open your heart. Logic will get you from A to B. Imagination will take you everywhere. To infinity and beyond! Namaskar

A Marvelous Story!

This is just book about a guy who was born in the 19th century in a town I never heard of in India; but somehow it has completely changed the way I look at life - my life. It has led me to look inwardly for answers to everything that bugged, haunted, confused or challenged me, and I've found remarkable answers to many of my questions. It has also led me to be on a continuing quest to find/be a better version of myself.
I'm grateful to my friend, Art, who gave me this book years ago. After he gave it to me, although I was interested in it, I didn't read it for over a year. One day I was looking at the back cover (I had a paperback version) and read a quote that said, "Whenever a friend needs regrooving (like an old record) I give them a copy of this and tell them to read it. I tell them how it ties all the world's religions together." That quote, by George Harrison - a person for whom I've always held great respect and high esteem - is what motivated me to read it.
I'm immeasurably grateful for having this book put in my hands and the motivation to open it.
Once you've read a few pages of the story you'll breeze through the rest - it's simultaneously captivating and charming.

….however, written to catapult a specific type of "worship" Yoga.
I can imagine the number of young souls trapped into believing they will be able to duplicate some of the imaginary feats this guy pretends to pass off as real.

Attended a local seminar of this type of worship (thank God I can't remember the name) yoga and decided to quit the book still at 48%

I loved this book, though it was a long read. I found myself deep in thought as he described his journey and spiritual lessons. There are some woo woo things that you may not be open to. However, if you stay open, you might find yourself transformed with a whole new perspective on life. Good luck!
