This is the first bar book. First published in 1862.
The recipes prove it.
I am using a technique toward the back of the book to make an Effervescent Cocktail, which involves tartaric acid and sodium bicarbonate stired into the drink at the end.
Who says molecular mixology is a new fad?

This is a scan of Jerry Thomas' classic book - it is not Kindle ready. It is very hard to read - each page is a full-age scan, leaving large margins that you cannot zoom in past. All the content appears to be there, but it is very difficult to read. There are no links, and the font is the original font, scanned and laid out as it was over a hundred years ago.
I think I recall seeing other, more expensive versions of this book - I wil look at those next. This version should not be available for sale on the Kindle.
The book is good - this version is not.
