Extremely Revealing

Like a lot of people I had believed the government had a policy of removing mixed-raced children forcibly from their families to assimilate them into the wider community and destroy their Aboriginal identity. I had assumed that when the Australian Human Rights Commission announced it had happened that they had carefully researched all the claims made.

I started to read this book almost by accident. I had needed some information about The Stolen Generation and grabbed a copy from the library.

After finishing the first few chapters I realised that I needed to purchase the book and read the entire 600 pages. Keith Windschuttle factually researched the claims made about The Stolen Generation and debunked them all. The book itself was an eye-opener into the past and left me with a lot of doubts about what had been actually going on.

This book has lead me onto reading a lot more about Australian history and doing my own personal research. I would encourage anyone who is interested in this issue to read the book.
