I have suffered a LOT. And I only understood a glimpse of the adrenal connection. Since I began caring for my adrenals (a month ago) and joined an online support group, already I’m noticing big improvements and I’m excited because I’ve only just begun.
I’m about to implement a lot more based on what I’m learning from Dr. Wilson. I can hardly believe what’s possible but I know it is… going from being on “death’s door” as I call it to be being more alive and energized than I’ve ever been. I’ve already been cycling 4x in the past 2 weeks! (My partner has been trying to get me going with him for 7 YEARS, but I’ve not had the energy for life, let alone something requiring real energy reserves like cycling)
I don’t write reviews all that much, but I have so much gratitude for you, Dr Wilson, that you dedicated the time and energy to write this book. The least I can do is take the time to write a review to share the impact.
This piece of work is an incredible gift to me and I imagine countless others, particularly being that this condition as you’ve named is so under-recognized, including in the medical community! I too went to my doctor and told her that I was so exhausted all the time, like I can barely scoop myself off the floor exhausted. Her response? To offer me an anti-depressant. No thank you.
But thank YOU, Dr. Wilson. THIS can help men and women find empowerment and hope out of this maze.
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

The book is a good balance of things that can help, and a serious "not a quick fix" approach. While Dr. Wilson does have his own supplements, he suggests them once or twice. This book is not the sales pitch that others on the subject I've looked at have been.
I'd like to see more than the usual "avoid stress", "eat well", "exercise" advice to go along with the supplements. For those of us taking care of ill family members, dealing with our own chronic illness, and working at a less than optimal and caring job, there's only so much stress that can be eliminated. So the reader may also come away with a sense that they cannot be "cured" because their life simply comes with a lot of strings attached. But the reader--and I--also know that changes need to be made. And the tips on mitigating stress are useful reminders.
The book ends rather abruptly and goes to the bibliography and indexes. There's a large list of foods and their associated glycemic index. The author/editor/publisher in me would have liked to see more polish, but you can't say that the book doesn't deliver solid, factual information. It does.
I've started some new supplements based on the book and look forward to seeing what happens. If you feel that you may have adrenal fatigue, or simply want to know more, I recommend this book enthusiastically.

Hopeful and will be taking away lot of learnings from this book to have a more balanced life.
So now, after going gluten/dairy/soy free, low carb/sugar/processed foods, taking milk thistle for liver support, low dose natural thyroid medication (1 grain), keeping my B12, iron and Vit D levels in check, and following Dr Wilson's adrenal support protocol (for 14 months now), I can feel I'm finally on the home stretch. He spoke of people needing between 6 months to 2 years to fully recover, but only 3 weeks to begin to feel an improvement. He was right. I've also put myself into counselling therapy to deal with past trauma that I didn't realise was still impacting me and my health, and just recently, have had the energy and motivation to start stretching my body to relieve the tightness and pain from being sedentary for so long, and slowly getting out to do more to exercise, walking, playing outdoors with my 4 year old son. The last obstacle that I seem to need to address now, I think, is low stomach acid. What I thought was drowsiness after meals due to really poor carbohydrate tolerance, I've finally been able to pin down to poor digestion of protein and fats.
I only write a little of my journey over the past 2.5 years only to highlight just how complex and multi-faceted our health problems, and consequent healing journeys, can be. And if it wasn't for books like this one, sharing clear practical knowledge with common people like me, I'd have been screwed. Recovering from hypo-adrenia has been but one piece of the puzzle, but a significant and very necessary one in saving me from hospitalisation and/or an early grave.
