Dr. Krebs offers a devastating critique of multiculturalism, showing that although it claims to be the watchman of racial and cultural diversity, it is actually destructive to both, as it denies the significance of racial differences altogether. He traces its origins to the legacy of the Judaeo-Christian tradition, and shows how this has developed into many of the most powerful tools of liberalism of our times. These are serving the interests of the global marketplace by turning all of humanity into compliant consumers. Those who endorse multiculturalism are, in fact, the enemies of all traditional culture. Dr. Krebs also takes issue with the use of the term 'West' to describe our culture, which he sees as an effort to deprive the various European cultures which comprise it of their unique characters and histories. Scholarly Intro' to Identitarianism

This is one of the foundation books for anyone who wishes to research the truth about the Identitarian movement. Krebs is eloquent in describing the dire state of the European people due to PC, egalitarianism that is driven by Christian charity gone mad, and those who wish to erase Europe from the map due to ethnomasochism and xenophilia.

Kreb's book is not a quick read as his style is drily scholarly, with bursts of poignant rhetoric.

Kreb's eloquently debunks the modern religions of "anti-racism", as being highly racist, and unlimited economic growth, as reducing people to just cogs. He is also very anti-American, Americanism as typified by a cosmopolitan society based on an abstract political ideal and a "melting pot" social model that is being pushed to unnatural levels (e.g. all differences between peoples being glossed over in the name of an abstract, "kumbaya", ideal).

This book is a good introduction to the Identitarian movement. Read with Guillaume Faye's Why We Fight and Patrick Buchanan's Death of the West, one can come to understand this very important movement that could save Europe before it is too late.

Lucid and accessible on identitarian movement

If you look for a well-written book on the identitarian movement, this book is a strong candidate.

This book written by Pierre Krebs is lucid yet accessible. To accomplish this a subject matter expert must possess not only depth and width within his/her domain but also be well-versed in communicating key ideas to non-experts. Krebs accomplishes this very convincingly.

Furthermore, the consistency of the text reveals that the translator Alexander Jacob has done a meticulous job in translating the book to English.

In summary, a high-quality piece of work that was hard to stop reading once started and that provides the reader an excellent vantage point for further exploration into the references supplied in the extensive reference list.

Compared to Alexander Dugin's book "The fourth political theory", which presents an emerging ideology that correlates well with the identitarian movement, Dugin's book is meta-ideological and inductive while Krebs' book is anchored in past and contemporary events with Heidegger serving as an important influence. Both books are highly readable while Krebs' book is more accessible.

The book begins with an analysis of how we arrived at today situation, where an increasing number of Europeans have had enough of European Union micro management and feel increasingly awkward finding themselves being transitioned into a global community of rootlesss and soulless consumers. Nihilism is the state of today with cultural marxism being a driver that threatens to annihilate the regional variations found across Europe.

Having dwelled upon root causes and how these have led to current state, Krebs concludes the book with a summary of how to break free from soulless consumerism and how to once again become authentic Europeans, proud of our diversity and with identities firmly rooted in the corresponding regions.

A very valuable book indeed that I expect to come back to frequently to realign with Krebs ideas and to follow his links to further reading.
