He starts off by talking about the different qualities of sources and evidence, then ignores his own statements and turns everything into a conspiracy. For example, he cites a 5-year delay between applying for an issuing a patent as evidence that the application was delayed. He clearly hasn't ever applied for a patent: that's quick if anything.

He also could stand to take some basic physics and aeronautical engineering courses: he claims that having containers of vacuum would provide lift: this is true (a cubit foot of air weighs an ounce or two), but ignores the weight of the container (probably a half-pound minimum).

The origin of current UFOs

This book is a primer on the origins of UFO development.

Nikola Tesla invented/patented UFO field propulsion anti-gravity technology in the early 1900s. He sold the latter to the German military in 1914 after first offering it to the U.S. military who refused to accept his offer. By 1943, the Germans had built flying prototypes and had substantially perfected them by 1947 at their secret Argentine and Antarctica military bases.
Regarding the prototypes, General George S. Patton had captured them in April/May 1945 before the Russians did. They were all sent to New Mexico for further development by primarily the German engineers who originally were employed in the program in Germany ("Paperclip" scientists that voluntarily emigrated to USA).
The rest is history. All UFOs are manufactured in the USA and thus the reason they are not a threat to USA airspace. Because of Moore's Law, the technology is thus what we observe today in both our atmosphere and the outer space that surrounds the earth.

BTW, Nikola Tesla also invented directed-ray weapons that both the CIA and USA military have in their arsenals. Dittos for UFOs.

A Classic on the Origin of UFOs

Stevens wrote his classic book on the true nature of WWII and early Cold War UFOs nearly 10 years ago. It is still a classic on the topic, even as UFO fundies still think aliens are traveling light-years just to make crops in circles and abduct people. Is it just chance that early UFOs resemble what the Nazis were working on? Even the Roswell event (see Roswell and the Reich )? Or that early U.S. experiments also were similar (after Nazi scientists were brought here)?

This new edition really only has new material added at the end. The author points to his subsquent books for more ( Dark Star and Hitler's Suppressed and Still-Secret Weapons, Science and Technology ). The whole book has been re-formatted, gone is the hard-to-read typewriter-style text (which I think was supposed to emulate the old classified documents). Many of the less relevant photos from the first edition have vanished. Page 16 now has the wrong classified document. The document shown refers to the ghost rocket on the previous page. The original document form the original book (that the caption refers to) has disappeared from this book altogether.

So for new WWII and UFO researchers, this is a must read. Do old readers need to "upgrade" to this version? Not necessarily, but the new format brings it in line with the Steven's other books and for another decade of researchers.
