I recently got this book because more and more my household is leaning toward ancestral eating. I enjoyed the detailed information in the beginning of the book that explains how sugar effects our body and what changes might occur when you remove it from your system. There are numerous plans in this book so that it will fit any lifestyle. I am currently a nursing mother and was excited to find that I could do the 21 Day Detox with a slight accommodation for my breastfeeding. My household participated without even knowing. I just cooked and provided snacks. My weight is down 4lbs after completing just seven days and my clothing is fitting great!There are many recipes that have become instant family favorites! The Mexi-Meatloaf has already been requested by extended family that helped eat the leftovers the day after (I posted the full page picture from the book). I found we had to cook slightly longer than the 60-70 minutes to get the middle to be no longer pink. My sugar cravings are curbed drastically and I'd be more likely to grab some homemade applesauce than ice cream right now. It resets your cravings to eliminate that which you crave.I highly recommend this book if you have the time to undertake reading (give yourself a week or so just to read), planning for and then cooking through the 21 days. It is very time consuming and elaborate due to the numerous changes and alterations you can make to your plan. The structure is easy to follow, if you have read and understand the abbreviations. The recipes are simple, and most take 30 - 45 minutes to prepare without cook time. The meals are decently sized they served my family of 3 with leftovers each night. I do not recommend this book to you if you do not have a lot of time. I think it may be discouraging, instead check out Sanfilippo's "Practically Paleo". This has recipes and a plan but not one as strict as this.My second picture is of one of the simple diagrams found in the informational section. Everything is very easy to understand and well illustrated.

I've already been incorporating Diane's first book, Practical Paleo, into my practice and the 21-Day Sugar Detox book is an exciting addition! Clients love Diane's practical way of teaching them how food works in their body and it really helps inspire and motive them to be compliant.

Although I believe Paleo is an extremely effective nutritional approach, I have clients that are not ready for that sort of change yet, so, as a practitioner, I need to respect that. One of the many reasons I am so excited about the 21-Day Sugar Detox, while the approach is still whole food based, it's not specifically a Paleo nutrition plan (although there is a level for that). It is a straightforward, approachable solution for anyone to get started on a new way to eating that can truly change their life.

Being able to teach with this book will save me a lot of time and effort because much of the work I would normally do for a client is already done. The 21-Day Detox book is a step-by-step guide that includes a little background on the whys, a self-quiz to assess which level you should start from, very clear Yes/No foods, suggestions on where and what to buy, meal plans, recipes, downloadable shopping lists, journals for tracking, and so much more. It also contains modifications for pescatarians (vegetarians that include seafood), those that have higher energy needs such as pregnant and nursing moms, athletes, and modifications for those with autoimmune conditions. I also love the small size, which is perfect to bring along while you shop and travel.

I have gained and lost weight over the years, I have even done some unsuccessful whole30s. Not until I read the ebook and did my first sugar detox did I realize how addicted to sugar I was. I was blind to it actually. I don't think you realize how much we depend on sweetness. Even following a strict paleo diet I felt myself making excuses "but this is natural, it's ok". Some Stevia in my coffee, a few pieces of fruit, some paleo pancakes topped with grade b maple syrup, date balls rolled in organic cocoa powder. Then I realized 2 packets of Stevia turned to 3-5, then when I was out with no Stevia a little splenda is ok, I'm sick of water I want juice and Crystal lite! Ugh it got ugly!
As soon as I saw this book was coming in print I did a dance, I was like Veruka in the chocolate factory "dadddddy I want it now!"
I'm on love, this book is great. I appreciate the different levels because now my non paleo friends have something they can do, and I can help them along the way.
I'm in love with the recipes too, even my children love them ( who are not doing the detox right now). I'm not sure my daughter will never eat another ketchup again! the savory biscuits are outstanding too! We used them to make breakfast sandwiches, and plan on making use of them for hamburger buns.
I'm sleeping better, I'm starting to get that glow back in my skin, and my raging appetite is at bay. oh and I'm only on day 4 of this detox! (my third round). I'm also using this detox as a stepping stool to help break my addiction to my scale. I vowed to judge myself by how I feel and how I look and not what the scale says!
I will post another review after I'm done with this detox, oh and you might want to buy 2 of these, because you are not going to want to let anyone borrow this book.

Diane made it easy to understand where sugars are found so that they were easier to avoid. Lots of great recipe ideas! I did a lot of minor modifications when I didn't have an ingredient listed, and they worked wonderfully.

The energy modifications helped me feel less restricted - also a great way to get people to work out! :)

The first week of the detox can be tough, but after, this lifestyle is manageable. I found that instead of craving chocolate, I craved fruit, so that's the only thing I really re-introduced after the 21-day detox.

This is something I would definitely recommend trying. Yes, it's hard, but you notice straight away how much unnecessary sugar we consume without even thinking about it. A benefit I noticed straight away was that I could wake up in the morning without being tired - I was excited to get up - which never happens.

The book has some fabulous recipes which are super easy to make and they're tasty too. The book also clearly states what you need to be doing and when, has good meal plans, and has an exhaustive list of good/bad foods. It's a no brainer really, get involved.

Ist eine sehr gute Lektüre, leider gibt's die noch nicht übersetzt darum hab ich die engl. Version genommen weil es wirklich interessant ist
