Lizzie is at it again and she brings everyone on board for the ride. After settling in to their new home in California Lizzie is gifted with a pet from the underworld by a mystery man. The man ends up being her father and is operating a church in Beverly Hills that is feeding the Earl of Hell. This begins the signaling of the end! Shiloh, the succubus, returns to help Lizzie with the new beast and gets sucked in to purgatory for her help. Lizzie tries to handle her father and the Earl on her own, but by now she should know better.
Lizzie continues to grow stronger in each book. She has an excellent understanding of her demon slayer powers, except in her ability to kill the Earl. She also has a weak spot where her father is concerned. These two issues make for an exciting new story.
I love these books!! This is one of my most favorite series of books. At this point in the story I feel like I know these people. I worry about them and I celebrate with them. That is how compelling and well written they are. The characters have been added to over the books giving us so much to love and to understand. The stories will make you laugh out loud, blush when Dimitri is involved, worry during a battle and rejoice during a victory. If you haven't read this series, you need to!!!

Lizzie, Lizzie, Lizzie...

For some reason, both books with Lizzie's dad were downers for me. How many times can he disappoint for her to finally get that he is a loser? I'll admit that at one point she seemed to have gotten it in this one, but then gets roped into doing something completely bloody stupid and has no idea how bad a decision it was until she literally releases a demon on Earth. Lizzie drove me crazy in that she didn't even realize how "off" she was after that last meeting with her dad. Shiloh on the other hand was a hit and although comes across kinda ditzy, was actually pretty smart and courageous. I'm still not quite sure about the end where Rachmort, Carpenter, Shiloh, and her husband survive Purgatory or whatever that ice place was, without any explanation as to how, only who was the key. As usual, some of my favorite scenes include Dimitri and luckily, he was the key to Lizzie's survival. And what does dear old dad do again? You got it, but more disappointing is how Lizzie seems to think she can now understand his fall from grace. Uh no, no you didn't go there. The man is still irredeemable.

Not that I didn't still find this entertaining, just not as a favorite. When Lizzie does really dumb things, I gnash my teeth and grit my way past those scenes until she shapes back up again. I don't expect her to be perfect, just don't be so surprised when you do something that others would have frowned at. Although honestly, the witches did push her into this. And even though I love these characters, I have to admit, I cannot imagine any grandmother or elderly person being as wacky as these women are. Probably why I enjoy this series so much. The characters are really fun and honestly likeable.

Now she's wondering about why the leader, with whom she's very familiar, has started this cult and why two others from her close chosen family have been accepted into the cult. She's going to need to rely on friends and family for Intel to help her cast a strong demon to the closest level of hell.

The characters and plot are great, the pacing good, and lots of twists and turns to keep you amused. If you like urban fantasy, are a fan of Sam Cheever's Bedeviled series, and root a heroine who has lots of grit, then this is a good series to try.

We get see a bit more of dear old Dad, and we get to know my new favorite character the 1/2 demon succubus, Shiloh; I can see another series with her and her Demon Slayer husband (hint, hint). Along with our favorite lovable rambunctious biker witches (I just love her Grandma!)another familiar not so nice demon character appears wrecking havoc. Angie Fox does a masterful job of pulling you in so far in this story you feel every emotion, every pain, every frustration experienced by this sometimes gullible demon slayer as she becomes more comfortable in her skin and leads us from one dangerous almost suicidal adventure to the next. A great suspenseful, nail biting experience that I did not want to end! I am so looking forward to the next installment of the next Demon Slayer Mystery!!!!

Lizzie is back in a new adventure and it is just as much fun as ever. Ms. Fox has kept the writing in this series very consistent. These are humorous and inventive with quirky characters and fun locations. Probably not for the hardcore paranormal fan but a lot of fun for everyone else. Each can stand alone but you will enjoy far more if you read the series in order. While they don't end in a cliff hanger each one ends pointing to the next.

Demetri and the Biker Witches don't play as large a role in this one as the previous but Lizzie does get a new friend and you get to watch her character grow further. This series is one of my guilty pleasures. The only problem is once I am done with the book I have to wait for the next.

A fun romp and dangerous battle through good and evil. This is the sixth book in the demon Slayer series. Familiar characters both from earth and hell.
A little long winded in the early parts but it picks up as Lizzy starts to deal with her father. She continues to hope for the best in him, but he continues to disappoint and walk away unconcerned. We don't like him.
Pirate, the talking dog is always spunky and loving. And Dimitri? Hot, powerful and fully in love with Lizzy. Between them, the witches, and Lizzy, it's a fight well worth proving that good should always win over evil.

Going undercover sounds like a good idea but that might be wrong if you take a talking dog, an overprotective guardian husband and your Grandma's biker witches with you. Loved the plot.
