Editorial Reviews
From the Back Cover
Playgrounds offer children the opportunity to slide, seesaw, swing, climb, skate, and do much more. They enhance children's motor skills along with their social interaction skills. Playgrounds are con-sidered the most important areas for children and youths outside the home and school environment. The key to the success of this demanding design task is the productive cooperation of architects and designers, landscape architects and urban planners, educators, artists and play equipment manufacturers.
This illustrated volume is dedicated to today's "kidscapes," presenting the most innovative international concepts and current trends. The projects that were carefully selected for this volume all have one thing in common - they offer fantasy worlds and play oases that combine the highest levels of aesthetics and design, play, adventure and safety to provide children with room to unfold their creativity and share it with others.

- Reviewed in the United States on June 11, 2013I was looking for inspiration and this book was brimming with fantastic playgrounds from around the world, not just your run of the mill slides and swings - but designed play spaces that just screamed fun and imagination, the only thing better than reading this book would be to visit the playgrounds it features.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 12, 2015Many projects in different countries, interesting for it's idea, materials, furniture. I like it.

Amazing book that contains many design ideas
J. Schade-weskottReviewed in the United Kingdom on September 25, 20134.0 out of 5 stars Amazing
This book is full of great ideas. In my opinion, the most amazing ones come from cold climate countries and uses wood. The playgrounds are mostly designed for big towns with big budget, but one can take ideas there and there for smaller projects. Some playgrounds are a little overdone, but in all, the book leaves a feeling of wonder.
