Great clamp for everyday use
To start, I purchased a 4 pack of 6” clamps. There is lots of confusion about sizes etc. The 6” clamp has a total overall length that measures 12 3/4”. The maximum size object that can be clamped is 6 3/4”.I have older Irwin quick-grip clamps (shown in photo with yellow pads) and there are several minor differences between them. The most noticeable one is the size of the pads. The older models have larger pads than the newer ones. Not a game changer but need to mention. The stopper pin at the bottom is also more robust on the older version. The newer ones have a screw on the top that can be removed to turn these into a spreader which is great for those who need it and that’s pretty cool.Some reviews complained about the clamping strength. Personally I don’t build houses and use them for all sorts of projects around my house and yard, and these have worked for every project I’ve ever needed them for and they should be fine for anyone who doesn’t need the strength of a gorilla to hold something. If that is the case then check out the Dewalt 300 lb clamps (which I did before I bought these), they are massive and would be my go to if I ever needed.Overall these seem to be high quality clamps, (although not as robust as the older ones), and should last as long as my old ones which I’ve been using for several years and they’ve never let me down.

Great quality. Feel much better quality than I expected at this price point. Very string clamp and smooth easy to use mechanism. I do wish I bought a few different sizes but that’s on me. They kept everything I worked on stable and together. I love these and have now used them much more then I thought I would. I had bought them for my new house to repair 2 things but I now use them almost every project. 10/10 would recommend.
