Addressing customer concerns, OXO redesigned the measurement markings so they would remain readable, even after years of use. The measurement pads are now molded from plastic and embedded into each handle, rather than printed with ink, ensuring they will never rub off. Each of the cups snaps onto the ring separately, making it simple to remove them one at a time. The set includes convenient 2/3 and ¾ cup measurements, which are ideal when doubling a recipe or cutting it in half. Found them to be very good

I bought these in a department store a couple of years ago and I have not had any of the problems the other people are talking about. The numbers are still all there after 2 years of use. I've even had them fall to the very bottom of my dishwasher during the cycle and still the numbers are firmly attached. The ingredients have always come out just fine for me. Most importantly I love the variety of sizes included. In fact I am planning on getting a second set to help on those days that I do a lot of baking at once. I even went out and bought the matching measuring spoons.

Accurate, but chunky

I'm used to using measuring implements with a bit of weight. Metal, with more metal, held together by metal. These guys are plastic, and chunky as heck. The shape of the measuring cups is such that the flour tends to not stick to the corners of the bottom. You know how when you measure out things like corn starch on a humid day, and the thing tends to stick to the bottom, because of the shape of the measuring device? Because these have a rounded edge, as well as that ovular shape with tapered stuff going on, the flour seems to slip right out. Definite bonus.

I don't think that the numbers will stay the colour that they are for very long, as the increment of the size of cup is printed on raised lettering with a coat of paint over it. Because it's raised, it's going to be exposed to the elements more than it would if it were sunken into the handle. That being said, because it is raised, there is no pocket for flour to collect in. This means that if I need to switch from regular baking to gluten free baking, I need only give the cups a quick rinse, and I'm safe. With other measuring cups, who have things pressed into them, there is the concern that flour will collect into those pockets, and not come out completely.

In my hands, they feel a bit chunky. I'm not a huge fan of the feel, but I guess that if you had small hands, or other such issues with gripping things, you'd appreciate the feel.

They have the increments that bakers use, like 1/3, 1/4, 1/2, but also 3/4, and 2/3. VERY handy, so that you don't need to repeatedly do 3 separate 1/4 cup measurements if you want 3/4 of a cup of something. Very handy. The loop that they attach to can easily be snapped on or off. Handy feature. I don't like the cups lassoed together while I bake. I prefer to unhook them, do my measuring, wash them off, then put them back on the ring for storage.

These are the best measuring cups I have ever used and I'm over 50, so I've used more than a few different types and brands over the years. I love that there is a 3/4 and 2/3 size. They come off the ring easily. It is awkward to use them all hooked together so I store them without the ring. These are sturdy, raised measuring sizes, rubber coated handles so they aren't slippery and you can put them in the dishwasher.

A major step backwards

I've had two sets of their previous version (round, stackable) that these were designed to replace. The problem with the old ones was that the numbers wore off and you had to guess what size the cup was. The new ones have permanent numbers molded into the handles that will never wear off. Great! That earns them a star above the minimum. But that's all they get. The shapes are awkward to pour out of since the "spout" is in the front (rather than on the side), and the cups aren't really stackable. The old set would sit nicely flat in a shallow kitchen drawer. This set, since the cups don't really nest, has the handles pointing skyward and gets caught when the drawer is opened. Sure, I can put them in a deeper drawer, but OXO had a design that worked. All they needed to do was just mold the numbers into the handles of the older design. Easy peasey. Instead, OXO went several steps backwards.

EDIT: Hey! Amazon! How 'bout separating the reviews for the previous version of this product from the current version? The reviews that complain about the numbers wearing off are all for the older version.

ABSOLUTELY PERFECT!

I love these measuring cups. They are slighted slanted to allow easy access to dipping out of sugar and flour bowls. They are the exact measurement allowing for taking a butter knife and leveling off the top of cup. I say this because my other measuring cups had about a 1/4 inch over and above the actual measurement.

They actually have the 1/3 cup and the 2/3 cup and 3/4 cup included with this set. That certainly makes measuring even easier. They have the measurement printed for life in red on each measuring cup. They are just perfect and can easily be taken off the ring for separation.

I highly recommend these quality well made measuring cups.

solid, durable, and has a 3/4 cup!

I am a guy but I make the World's best chocolate chip cookies. It is hard to find a 3/4 cup though. I even went to the specialty shops and they wanted to charge me $25 for their set with that size cup in it while the other sets were 1/2 the price. They only had one and had to go to the back to find it. People who pay that much are stupid, crazy, or desperate!! You can pull the desired cup from the ring as well so you don't have to wash them all each time even if you just used one like other sets I have seen. Well, maybe that is just the spoons but you get my point.

A bit disappointing from Oxo

These cups are great ergonomically, except for one thing...the weight. They are dishwasher-safe, but fly around in the dishwasher rather easily, so they'd be better washed by hand. They are rather light to hold, too. That can be an advantage or disadvantage when working with dry ingredients. The measurement decals on mine came off early in the history of use (if I remember correctly, after only 3 washings). Oxo makes great kitchen gadgets, but you may wish to look elsewhere for the measuring cups.
