Use if you don't mind collapsed nips and drips

You get what you pay for. My baby is 5.5 months old and I'm tired of washing a gazillion Dr. Brown's bottles and parts everyday. I felt that he was old enough to move to a simpler bottle. I really enjoyed the skinny streamlined look of the Dr. Brown's standard bottles and wanted something similar. I found these Evenflo bottles with decent reviews. A pack of 3 are only $6 so I shouldn't expect too much but the collars on these bottles are very flimsy and cheap. The nipples do not vent as per the description here, causing my baby to suck and suck until the nipple is collapsed making him work hard to drink. The bottle also drips like mad, I don't know how much milk has ended up on my baby's chest! And don't get me started on the bubbles!!! The milk bubbles up like it would if someone was blowing into a straw. Hey, I know my baby is smart but I don't think he knows how to blow yet!! I've tried this bottle with their classic nipples, the new + nipples, Dr. Brown's nipples, Parent's Choice nipples and collars, and they are all less than ideal. Here I go again, crawling back to Dr. Brown.

Inexpensive glass option

So glad I found these! Even the nipples are great. My last baby used Tommee Tippee and I like these bottles so much better. They clean up quick. No yellow milk stains or left over smell from forgotten milk. They are heavy but so far that is not a problem. I have stained concrete floors and I do not use a cover on these. In the 5 months I have used glass bottles I have not broken one.

Just a word of caution if you use a bottle warmer and normally use plastic bottles. The milk warms up FAST in glass, and if you are not careful the milk will continue to heat after you remove the bottle. This comes from the glass staying so hot. I have burned my fingers on the glass when I was heating a large bottle.

Overall this is a great option if you want to use the bottle for siblings.

Nipples and dishwashing

It'll be a few months before we put these bottles to use but I wanted to clarify a point about replacing the nipples and dishwashing. These bottles represent the "old standard" so only the vented "original NUK" and Evenflo nipples will fit and presumably work well without collapsing. The current trend (Avent, Playtex natural, Gerber etc.) seems to involve wide mouth bottles and thus nipples with larger diameter rings. The difference, if you compare the older versus newer style nipples side by side should be fairly obvious. I only mention this here to clarify that options may be limited and to be careful if ordering nipples online.

Update: Last night, I washed the included latex nipples in the upper rack of the dishwasher and found that they came out discolored. Some websites will indicate that the nipples themselves are dishwasher safe. I think the discoloration indicates that some damage has occurred. I wasn't even using the high heat (sanitizing) option!

Oh well... good thing we intend to use these bottles primarily for the storage of expressed breast milk. I'm following other reviewers' suggestions to get the Sassy (MAM Assure Ultivent) BPA-free plastic bottles for trips outside the home and for supplemental feeding.

Great and affordable classic glass bottles

I don’t like the nipples so I use it with Nuk ones which are compatible. The Bottles are quite sturdy and the last ones lasted more than a year and resisted many falls. I love glass, nothing beats it.

Not Nice Nipples

The bottles are nice & sturdy but as has been commented before, the nipples are shoddy. I breastfed for 11 months, supplementing with AVENT botles(which I was extremely happy with functionally but they have BPA) but I just switched to these because they're BPA-free. I would not recommend these to nursing mothers because the poorly shaped nipple is completely unnatural. These tiny, narrow nipples are unlike AVENT's nipples, which mimic a good nursing latch. We used a #2 AVENT nipple, which has a slow flow and caused my daughter to actively nurse from the bottle. These Evenflow slow nipples are so fast that they caused her to chug-a-lug quickly. At first she even choked. Medela nipples fit as an alternate but they are faster than AVENT as well and they're just the wrong shape. The seal on the Evenflow bottles are slightly leaky if you don't get the rings screwed on just right, which in my one-handed hurry I rarely seem to be able to do.

I love these. 8 oz and made out of glass. It's healthier to use glass than plastic in my opinion so I can only recommend this. These are nice thick glas bottles but they will break if you accidentally drop them on a hardwood floor , it happened to me , but carpet is ok .

Love Glass Bottles

None of my kids use bottles anymore, but when they did I went through so many brands and types of bottles trying to find one that I liked. My final choice was to settle on these glass bottles. They last so much longer than the plastic bottles. All of the plastic bottles that I tried got to a point where no matter how well I washed them, how hot the water was, even going through the dishwasher didn't get the formula smell out of them. Glass bottles are so much easier to clean, and so much easier to run through the dishwasher. Plus, in the diswasher the plastic bottles were never completely dried in the drying cycle. Not a problem with glass bottles.

These bottle are so deceptively simple but so great. I love that they're made of good, solid, and chemical-free glass instead of plastic (except for the top of course). My daughter drinks from the nipple with no problem as well. And I love that you get 3 for a reasonable price. I would definitely buy these again.
