just the basics

I bought this laptop sleeve because I wanted something light, compact, and basic, and it's definitely satisfactory in those respects. The corner holders work great- i'm using my iBook 12" while it's in the sleeve right now.

I'm a little concerned about whether the inner pocket will scratch my laptop- in retrospect I wish I had bought the Shoreline Classic laptop sleeve, which has a zippered opening for the ports in the back (this one doesn't) and an exterior pocket, which would avoid the issue of scratching.

I'm a little doubtful as to whether this case will protect my laptop from getting wet, too. These potential issues are the reasons that I docked the product down to 4 stars.

But for a basic sleeve that will protect your laptop when you're carrying it in another bag (I'm mainly going to be taking it to and from the library), you can't go wrong with this one. Just be sure you've checked out all the other options and compare features (memory foam, waterproofness, non-scratch interior, handles, etc.)

Great Protection at a Great Price

This will not substitute for a full case, but if you take your notebook and toss it into a bag like I do, the this protective sleeve is for you. It's convenient and easy to work with in any situaiton.

There are times when you just want to carry your device without the bulk of a larger bag. This is the answer. It is soft and protective.

Now there are some considerations that those considering this product need to know.

1. It does not have a hard design. Not a substitute for a hard case.

2. You should measure the size of your device to get a really good fit.

Overall I think it's a great value for the price.

NOT for M1210 with 9 cell battery, but Great Case otherwise!

I bought this through amazon after seeing a friend of mine use it with his Dell M1210 laptop (+ standard 6 cell battery) and it looks and works great! However, I bought my M1210 with the 9 cell battery that sticks out a bit, and unfortunately - this case did not fit at all with the 9 cell. No amount of fighting would make it fit. =(

excellent cover

i have an ibm thnkpad x40 and this neoprene cover is the perfect way to transport my laptop. though it doesnt fit snugly as with other bigger laptops, the weight is almost nonexistent and it protects this very important asset of mine. as a law student, weight is a premium and i didnt want to add any unnecessary weight while carrying my laptop to and fro from class and home. this cover, while adding almost no weight, provides a great deal of protections.

This is the case I always wanted but didn't know it until I first saw one. It has a great feel and look plus it works!!! The case fits nicely in your hand or in your bag, not extra bulk just good solid protection.

Fits my Averatec 3700 beautifully with room for my Logitech V500 mouse.

good except...

The case fits my 12" ibook perfectly and I love that when it's all zipped up it looks more like a binder than a laptop. However, the zipper pulls broke off within a week of owning it and the fabric binding at the top of the inner mesh pocket dyed a black stripe across my white computer.

nice but fragile

It works great for my thinkpad x60, and even stretched to cover the two extended batteries I put on it. The zipper pulls kept coming off, even with gentle use. If you want a tight fit for a good price it's OK though. I'm buying another one.

nice sleeve, but...

This sleeve seems well made and looks nice, but it doesn't fit either my IBM X30 or X22. These are both small laptops, but they do have very square front corners, which seems to be the issue.
