Good movie. Spectacular Blu-ray remastering!

My review is for the Blu-ray format of Splash.

Movie:
The movie is charming! When I first saw it on an online movie service, I said to myself that I needed this on my collection! It's funny, romantic, sometimes a little sexy (mild) - not really for small kids. There's a lot of kissing - funny because the mermaid always wanna kiss Allen (the man). But still it's a magical movie. It's movie about mermaid who fell in love with a man. A modern day Little Mermaid Story. The actors gave superb performance.

Blu-ray:
The blu-ray quality is not what I expected it to be - it exceeded my expectations! It was really spectacular! The picture quality is really clear and sharp. The close ups on the lead characters' faces are unbelievably clear for an 1980's film. It sometimes looks like it was shot on 2016. Though the age of the movie is obvious due to the camera that was used.

The colors are nice too. Nice sound. Nice extras (though I haven't watch it in full yet). Great restoration and remastering!

Packaging:
Just on a normal Blu-ray case that was a bit thicker than the standard.

Region:
It's region free. It's working on my Region A Blu-ray player.

Delivery:
I experience no problem with Amazon's delivery service. Fast, reliable, and on time.

I grew up watching this movie so it was fun to revisit all of my favorite moments: the opening sequence with the dropped coins, the confused but sweet receptionist, "Bocce Balls!", Dr. Cornbluth and the Moron Twins ("Oh, we're not twins."), the revelation of the real name of Daryl Hannah's character while in the department store electronics department, "I was shy.", infiltrating the scientific lab while pretending to be Swedish. The list goes on and on...
It was also fun to catch the little details that I can see as an adult that I was blissfully unaware of as a child.

Somehow the love story in this film felt more genuine than a lot of other films even though she was a mermaid. I was always curious about seeing this film but did not get around to it until July of 2016 and i'm glad I did. it wasn't particularly funny except for about 3 moments or so and some of it was a little bit too silly for me still I believe it was worth seeing and the connection between the two characters played by Tom and Daryll were really worth seeing. I wonder how much this movie made the name Madison popular as well.

A good family picture. It's the story of a girl mermaid that saved a boy human back when he was 5 or so. Later he almost drowns and she saves him again. Tom Hanks plays the man who got saved and Darryl Hahhah plays the mermaid. Well it happens to be that she can spend 5 days above water with legs to met him and learn about him. He has no idea she's a mermaid only yhst she's from out of town. More ensues as scientist tries to prove that mermaids are real.

I loved this movie as a kid and I finally got around to purchasing it as an adult. After getting this yesterday, I immediately watched it. The love is still there. It's a great movie and even now being in 2018, I still love this movie.

simple story of boy meets girl...boy losses girl...boy finds girl again...but the girl being a mermaid is pure genious...played for laughs and pure entertainment...still a joy to watch a young Daryll Hannah cavort around seemingly naked...she had the Director wrapped around her little finger as well...so the story goes...I'm currently taking a class in Directing with Ron Howard and he speaks fondly of this movie, too.....:)

Nothing can beat a good old school movie except a good old school movie with Tom Hanks in it! My favorite child hood movies most always have Tom in them. I love the characters he plays and the personality he presents in all of his movies I have watched.
