My 2006 Chevy TBSS has had most of the OEM speakers fail occasionally since I bought it - nothing unusual over a 14 year period - just normal wear and tear on cheap, paper cone OEM speakers. These drop in pretty much as direct replacement - although the front doors (not the rear) hold them in baffles that require a little nibbling with a pair of pliers or the like and then they fit perfectly. Make sure you get the wiring adapter (perhaps from Metra) to interface with your stock wiring unless you want to cut/connect the factory speaker wire ends. The sound is better than stock (I had the base speakers in my car) but it's not life changing type better. The bass is about what you'd expect from a lower end but still name brand smallish speaker. But for the price, it's hard to argue with these - I feel like these are really ideal for people who have OEM speakers that fail and you'd like a quality replacement that doesn't make you regret spending an hour or so popping off panels, etc. only to think "hmmmm, do these really sound better than the old ones?".
But if your car audio system works fine and you're looking for an upgrade - these might not be the ones I'd start with - I'd probably go up a few notches.
