I love this puzzle! I've done several 3D puzzles and this one is probably the toughest one, yet. It's complicated, detailed, and some of the pieces are oddly shaped so they're difficult to categorize until you're at the end. That being said, I had so much fun putting it together that I wanted to break it apart and do it again right away! I highly recommend it for advanced 3D puzzle solvers. BTW-The 3D San Francisco puzzle is comparable to this one in size and difficulty. Great fun!
Puzzle showed a representation of Venice I visited. It was very challenging to assemble and it displays a small portion of a beautiful historical city.
We are major fans of the 3-D puzzle series. If you've done the Eiffel Tower or the White House ones you know how complex they can be. (But hey, that's why we love them in the first place, isn't it?) Well, 3-D Venice is unbelievably involved and certainly not for the faint of heart. I think it's the most complicated one yet. No child under the age of, say, 11 or 12, would have the organization skills to just get the piles in place at the beginning. Also, for the older person with finger mobility issues or failing eyesight, this would be an impossible puzzle. But, if you are having a particularly snowy winter and are inside alot, then this is for you! Just don't be a newbie to the series. Start with the Eiffel Tower and the graduate to Venice. Once our puzzle of Venice is completed I'll let you know how it compares to the real place, a touch of paradise on Earth. ;-)
I agree with everything the reviewer, D. Pierce, said, so won't make you read the same thing twice. I will add that the puzzle is incredibly beautiful, detailed, and precisely engineered! I have great admiration for the person who designed and created the puzzle. I enjoyed putting it together so much I'm almost sad that it's done. I also assembled the Wrebbit 1512 piece San Francisco puzzle. If anyone can recommend a 3D puzzle that equals this in complexity and beauty, please let me know. I'd love to get it!
Overall it's pretty durable and a lot fun. Definently worth buying and the overall result is very satisfying. My biggest complaint would be that some of the pieces are really small, making it easy to confuse them with the 'throw away' pieces. (Don't throw anything away until you have finished it!!)
