This cake turntable works as expected, very well. I'm writing this review for a few reasons, first the non skid pad shipped with the stand goes between the cast iron base and your counter top, NOT ON TOP OF THE TURNTABLE! The picture on the Amazon ad is WRONG. Second, at least one reviewer complained about the sound when it spins, seriously?, when you're actually decorating a cake you spin this thing very slowly, not at 100 RPM, so you don't hear anything! On top of that if you're really annoyed with the sound do what makes sense, lubricate it with some food grade mineral oil or a little cooking spray and the sound will go away.
