works great but you need to buy the inexpensive Amazon supplied tool for installation. No instructions so lube the tool bolt with assembly lube: insert tool just under top coil on each end and compress maximum to place spring so you can see where it is going to reside. Then back off the nut watching to make sure the spring is opening in the proper TWO locations. Piece of cake if you do it right. Try wrong and you will not be pleased and possibly angry. Still confused watch on-line use of the compression tool video that doesn't tell you the stuff above.
Note: If the door limit pin is bent due to slamming door open, worse yet hinge attach metal bent, or the main pin and bushings are bad you are wasting your time and money Parts and tool are cheap Door and column metal fixing is kilobucks.
