Used properly, I think it's the best overall solvent/lubricant available, certainly more effective as a penetrating oil and long term lube than WD-40 and Tri-Flow, in my opinion ( stress "my OPINION").
Any solvent, oil, lubricant, aerosol that is petroleum based should be used with caution. Water is a solvent too and it can be dangerous if you hold your head in a bucket full of it for a prolonged period of time!
I use it on hinges, locks, window cranks, gun parts, faucet handles, anything that squeaks and is made of metal. I also spray it on my rotary push mower blades after each use to keep the blades sharp and healthy. I spray it on garden hose couplings, scissors, squeaky wheels and even my nose hair trimmer. If it wasn't unhealthy to digest, I would spray some on my cat to stop his constant meowing when I'm trying to take a nap. When used indoors, I make sure the room is well ventilated and have a fan going or a window open if possible.
You don't need much! A LITTLE spray will be plenty on most projects if given time to penetrate.
Since like substances tend to emulsify each other, it can be used to clean heavier oils and I like to use it to clean carbon deposits off of firearms; it's a lot safer than carbon tetrachloride and I think it's almost as effective. Again, MY OPINION.
One last warning: If you are blind - I am totally blind - take care not to store it in the kitchen as the can is similar enough to PAM food spray that I actually once sprayed PAM on a door hinge before my son decided to tell dad what he was doing. As of yet, to the best of my knowledge, I have not used PB Blaster while scrambling eggs. I don't have any sense of smell either so even if you're as blind as I am, you should normally be able to smell the difference between PAM and PB Blaster. And before I get comments: yes I know that I could just put a simple raised label on the can to identify it, but that would make things too easy and I like the daily challenge, it keeps me alert.
It's like an insurance and very affordable to have on hand just in case.
Now, when it says Blaster on the can, they mean BLASTER. I would recommend wearing eye protection while using this to avoid ricochet back into the eyes, especially if on your back and working over your head.
It would have been nice to have a simple stray like comes with many spray cans. It does have a very potent smell. I would work outside or in a well ventilated area.
I think this is an excellent product to have around for anyone working on vehicles or odd jobs around the house.
The angles and durability of the included straw cannot be beat! I was able to spray the bolts on a catalytic converter without even lifting up the car. It shoots upside down, sideways and you can angle it wherever you need to. It's also very durable unlike the old school style where you have the red straw that you will always lose. Also you don't have to worry about it accidentally spraying due to loosing or pressing down on the cap.
The price from Amazon also cannot be beat. For the size, it's cheaper than the old school ones you find in the auto stores.

The only thing I could possibly complain about is the smell. It's rather 'fragrant' but it wasn't overpowering.
