Great sprouting seed!
This is the best organic broccoli sprouting seed ever! I have read reviews of other sprout brands that are cheaper but don't sprout all the seeds. I have ordered Handy Pantry Organic Sprouting Seed for 5 years and have never been disappointed with quality! My seeds always sprout!I saw that someone wondered about why their seeds are not sprouting completely. I would like to share the method I use to sprout them in case it helps. I use a quart size wide mouth mason jar with a sprouting lid. I put 2 tablespoons of broccoli sprouting seeds in it and fill it with purified water (you can use tap water, but I purchased a reverse osmosis system from Kinetico so I can always have purified water for my sprouts. There are other alternatives on the market which are cheaper solutions). I let them sit on the counter all day OR overnight (about 8 hours or so). Then I pour out the water they've been soaking in and fill the jar with water again to rinse off the sprouts. I let the water drain out again. After this beginning process is complete I rinse and drain the sprouts two times a day for about 3 days. You can do this longer if you want larger sprouts. I prefer this size. Now it is important to drain your sprouts at about a 45 degree angle so the water drains out and the sprouts don't rot. At this angle they get air circulation. I also twist the jar so the seeds get distributed around the jar. After about 2-1/2 days I have about 2/3 jar of sprouts and it's time for me to remove the little seed jackets. So, I fill the sprouting jar with water again and I skim off the seed jackets with a clean spoon. I keep swirling the sprouts in the jar until the majority of the seed jackets rise to the surface so I can skim them off. I don't mind having some of them left on my sprouts. Some people continue this process until they have removed the majority of them. It's harder to take them all off while they are this small. If you want more of the seed jackets to come off, grow the seeds a little longer. After I remove the seed jackets I drain the water off one last time. I let the jar drain all day OR overnight as the case may be. Then my sprouts are ready to eat. I remove the sprouting jar top and put a regular mason cover on the jar so that the sprouts don’t dry out and put them in the refrigerator.I have broccoli sprouts every day because of the sulforaphane (the important cancer fighting property) in them. There are numerous research studies showing the nutrition and cancer fighting properties of broccoli and broccoli sprouts in particular. I have also grown broccoli sprouts as a micro-green in organic potting soil with excellent results. My preference though is to sprout them in jars, remove the hulls and then refrigerate them until I finish them and start on the next batch! They are a mild tasting seed and an excellent seed to start with if you have never sprouted before!Happy Sprouting!

I believe one of the bags was cut at the warehouse or at the manufacturer because I clearly remember opening the box very carefully without cutting through the merchandises inside. During the first time, I didn't get a very good result. One of my jars had many seeds that could not even germinate. In my second time around, I managed to get it right by allowing a minute or so longer for the dehydrated seeds to take in more water before straining out the water during the first few days. As a result, most seeds germinated better and both of my sprouting jars were packed full on the sixth day as shown in the picture when I put them out in the sunny area to get the sprouts turn green a little. I harvested the broccoli sprouts on the seventh day and used it generously on my morning salad bowl with natto (home fermented), red onion, capers, ground coriander seeds, black sesame seeds, and parley. The broccoli sprouts taste bitter this time around. That could be a sign of better nutrient content inside the sprouts.

Great seeds, sprouted well
Reviewed in the United States on September 23, 2024
I have been sprouting broccoli seeds for years and wanted to try this vendor. Gave it three times, and each time the seeds only sprouted a tiny bit then rotted...with the most horrific stench you can imagine.
This has never happened before. Something is very wrong with the quality of these seeds.

Update: The vendor offered to refund the purchase because the seeds were bad. Then, they said they couldn't because Amazon fulfilled the order. So, it seems like Amazon's seeds are bad/old and when you order via Amazon, you will likely get those rotten seeds.

True Leaf (Handy Pantry) is a reliable company to buy from. I notified them when a batch of my broccoli seeds were not sprouting well. Even though my order was past the Amazon 30 day return policy, they took it upon themselves to replace the bag with a new one with no questions asked. Their high standards of customer service (as well as their excellent product) is why I recommend buying your seeds from them!

I've sprouted broccolli before, but they were not as mild and tasty as these are! I didn't see any seeds that didn't sprout as others have mentioned, but some of the seed coverings were on the bottom of the jar and could have been mistaken for unsprouted seeds if not looking closely. I use a sprouting lid with a wide mouth mason jar and stand. I got the sprouting lids and stands on Amazon "Sprouting Jar Lids and Stands, Sprouting Kit Stainless Steel for 32 Oz Wide Mouth Mason Jar and Phone iPad Tablet (2PCS Lids + 2PCS Stands) by Lanting" I followed the directions from the ebook, from the seller, soak 6 hours, then cover and rinse through out the day (in cooler weather 3-4 days total). I've used cheese cloth in the past to cover sprouts, and while it works, the top slips and sags, sprouts get caught in the cloth and it is a general nuisance to sprout. After a short greening up process after reaching desired size, they are ready to eat and the remainder is stored in the refrigerator. I did panic when I say the tiny roots that looked like mold, but they are actually tiny roots and will lie back down when wet.

I am so pleased with these seeds, I just placed an order for this company's alpha seeds to add some variety to my seed sprouting.
