I decided to stop taking the expensive glucosamine supplement after reading that one of the ingredients might be causing my blood thinning. The core ingredient I really needed anyway was MSM and it didn't have this side effect, so I chose the Life Extension brand that I was familiar with and using their other products. I've been taking MSM for a while now and doing fine, no upset stomach and it's helping my knee joints. This may be a better alternative for some folks rather than the expensive brands with several additives you may not need or that could cause side effects.

I suffer from constant 24/7 muscle spasms and it's onset was in 2000. After my right rotator cuff was repaired in 2011 my arm muscles have never recovered even after trying PT 4x over 3 years. And Pain Mgmt 3x. My mother told me about a product called Triple Flex put out by Costco and it contains 750mg of MSM but can only be taken once daily. Both my sister and I noticed a difference within 5 days but then it stopped working by the 7th day. So, I decided to go for straight MSM without the glucosamine chondroitin and have only had it 2 days. Yesterday I only took 1 capsule of 3 and that was it for the day. This morning I took the advised 3 capsules (3caps 2-3x daily) and after about 2 hours felt a nice change in my mood, pain and strength. I'm sticking with this one and already have another bottle on it's way. Can't wait until tomorrow. I only gave it 4 stars since it hasn't even been 3 days but I'm very hopeful. My DO doc was the one who advised if I am to take any supplements at all that Life Extensions products are top on her very limited list. I did read that if you have been diagnosed as BiPolar you should NOT take MSM which in case you didn't know is even in Metamucil.

I have been trying to heal damage due to an athletic injury for a year by taking it easy when possible, mild stretching exercises and stronger exercise to overcome the pain by pushing into it in in order to do basic household work like vacuuming and lawn mowing. Nothing worked completely and even climbing stairs was painful yet necessary in a 3 story house. After taking LEF MSM at up to 3 grams day for several days all the pain has vanished. It's pretty amazing and makes me feel 20 years younger. When starting the MSM I also stopped doing all yoga exercises Indian and Chinese (including tai-chi and kung-fu) and started doing only basic western-style 3/4 squats and deep waist bends while maintaining a daily session of Wim Hoff deep breathing. I have experienced no side effects from the MSM.

I pretty much tore up my body as a teenager 60 years ago. After having 24 surgeries I struggle mainly with trying to avoid having additional "repairs or tune-ups". It already takes me about 30 minutes to get through the TSA security check. Painkillers are no longer effective for me so I rely on ice and rest for my rehabs.

My wife however relies on MSM for her arthritic feet. It's amazing to me how effective this seems to be for her. Of course she has never had surgery on any type of athletic injury so her system probably can use this supplement more efficiently and effectively.

I am very thankful that she gets relief using MSM. From personal experience I know that having pain with every step you take can be punishing. When she feels well she so much more pleasant to be around. I'm for anything that does that trick.
