Perfect light test and fix gadget
Every year has been such a hassle testing bulbs on another light set. This immediately addresses that need. Then the trigger fix "vudu magic" is really crazy how that works. Makes my brain hurt to understand what that is doing. The AC test feature is also perfect for integrating into this tool. Lastly, the bulb removal tool saves your fingers. All in all I wish I had this many years ago. An essential all in one tool for fixing lights. Highly recommend. You'll still need to apply your knowledge to use it though, so don't expect it to be a zero effort magic wand Harry.

    We bought our first LightKeeper way back in the simpler times of 2012. It lasted 12 years and helped fix many of our holiday lawn ornaments. Even though we have mostly shifted to LEDs (we have their LED product as well) we still have several lawn ornaments with the older bulbs including a matching R2D2 and BB8 with festive Santa hats. This year, after successfully repairing R2D2 the trigger on that 12 year old unit finally gave up and broke before we could repair our matching BB8. We ordered a new one and after it got here our holiday droid was fixed in less than five minutes. This is a great product that does exactly what you want it to do, it gets the light string working so you can quickly find and replace the bad bulbs. Comes with clear instructions that are easy to follow. (We're keeping the old 2012 one around as the bulb tester still works fine.)

    I found out about this device by watching a christmas light troubleshooting segment on a morning show and when I saw the price, it was a no brainer to get one and try to fix many strings of lights that I quit using because I wasn't able to get them to work.

    It's great that the packaging is non-destructive (you don't have to slice it open to get the item from the packaging) and clever that the instructions are built into the foldout back side of the packaging so after you are done with the light keeper pro, you can put it back in the package and hang it on your tool wall for the next time you need it.

    If you are one that learns better through visuals like me, one who wants to learn about light strings and how the tool works, or have icicle or netting lights to fix, I highly recommend going to the Ulta Lit website and watching the 40 minute detailed instruction video. I did because I was curious about how the device works and I found out so much stuff that helped me fix my light strings. I like how Ulta Lit is so transparent in that they want you to know why light strings work the way they do or how their tool works to fix light strings and not just demonstrate procedures on how to use their tool.

    Some light strings I was able to fix with the trigger function.

    Another light string I was able to fix using voltage detection method. I find the voltage detection feature of Light Keeper Pro so-so and I ended up using my stand-alone non-contact voltage detector tool to help me find the area I needed to concentrate on to fix that light string.

    The online 40-minute instructional video really shined on a difficult issue I had wtih one of my icicle light string. First, there is a dedicated section of the video that talks about troubleshooting icicle lights so I followed the advice and got to an area to investigate within the non-working section. I next used the bulb tester to test bulbs in that area and they were all fine. Finally, I was about to give up on that string until I remembered the part of the video about christmas light sockets. Thank goodness some light sockets are repairable as I had always thought they were molded sockets and not just contacts slid into channels in the socket. I inspected each socket in the burnt out area just to rule that out before giving up on the string and I found a socket that needed its contact reset so I followed the instructional video procedure to remove the wire with contact and put it back into place in the socket and that got me going with that icicle string!

    The fuse tester works great as I temporarily took a fuse from a working string and tested it just to see how the fuse tester works.

    I found the most useful features are the trigger, the bulb tester and the storage compartment in the handle. I've taken a few clear (for icicle), multicolor bulbs and some extra 3A fuses and put them in the handle so they are handy when I need them.

    So far I've gotten every light string that was broken working again and now I have more light strings to use for decoration!

    A section of lights on my many-years-old pre-lit tree went out. After trying all the suggestions the internet had to offer I purchased the LightkeeperPro based on a random blog post. I was skeptical but desperate. One click of the trigger and the lights came back on! I am pleasantly surprised that it worked so well and so easily. It’s a bit pricy but worth it for the time it saved and not having to replace the tree.

    Las instrucciones no me parecieron muy claras, pero con un vídeo en YouTube fue suficiente para comprender lo fácil que es su uso. Nos ha ayudado muchísimo a reparar series de luces sin invertir horas. Muy recomendable.

    One word! AWESOME. A big section of my pre-lit Christmas Tree was not lighting up. I had tried randomly changing bulbs but gave up quite quickly as I was never going to work out where the fault was. The light keeper found the fault in seconds. So easy to use and worth every penny - no need to buy a new tree or string lights!

    This tool just saved me hours of fiddling around trying to figure out which light in the section of my 10 foot pre-lit tree was the problem. Plugged in the burnt out section, clicked the trigger a few times and voila! Working again! Also used some of the other features on another very old set and was able to salvage that as well. Bulb checker super helpful. Definitely recommend!
