Circuit Board Specific Holding Power
The PanaVise 324 electronic work center is a work-holding tool bundle designed for use in the assembly and repair of electronic circuit boards. The tool consists of four PanaVise components: the 315 circuit board holder, the 300 standard base, the 312 parts tray mount, and the 371 solder station kit. The 315 circuit board holder is a head component with a 5/8" stem diameter that attaches to the 300 standard base. The 315 circuit board holder has two horizontally-adjustable arms that secure circuit boards up to 12" wide and 5/32" (4 mm) thick. The arms have "V"-shaped grooves that securely hold circuit board edges. The right arm also includes a ratcheting lever that allows for fast removal and placement of the circuit boards without having to loosen the main grip of the holder arms. The 315 circuit board holder also has an independent adjustment knob above its shaft that allows a user to tilt circuit boards to the most convenient angle for soldering. With pre-drilled holes, the aluminum 312 parts tray mount can be attached to the 300 standard base. The 312 parts tray mount contains six integrated part wells with rounded edges that ease the grasping of parts. The 371 solder station kit includes a soldering iron holder, a controlled-feed solder/wire holder, two nib sponges with self-purging slits, and two mounting screws and nuts. The soldering iron holder and the solder/wire holder attach to the outer edge of the 312 parts tray mount with included screws. This allows a user to safely and conveniently house a soldering iron and solder material. The two nib sponges are shaped to fit into the part wells.

Tilt, Turn and Rotate Functionality
The PanaVise 324 Electronic Work Center utilizes PanaVise single-knob "split-ball" functionality at the point of contact between its base and the circuit board holder. Once the circuit board is secured within the head, the split-ball system allows for maneuvering the board along three separate planes. The complete mobility range with the split-ball system is a 90-degree tilt to the side, along with either an angled rotation, or a level turn range of 360 degrees. The mobility range allows a user to rearrange circuit boards into any position. This eliminates the need to adjust the overall position of the work station, allows for fast alternating views between the solder and the component sides of circuit boards.
Additional Head Options
Although the PanaVise 324 Electronic Work Center is primarily intended for use with the included circuit board holder head attachment, it is also compatible with a range of other vise head accessories. The base works with all PanaVise 300 series vise heads, as well as the PV Jr. 203 head, or any other tool with a 5/8" diameter shaft.

One accessory that this does not come with nor does it look like there's one available is a small parts tray that can go on the horizontal arm that holds the two vertical arms. This horizontal arm is 1/2" by 1/2" square extruded pipe (box pipe). I just 3D printed a tray that slides on the end of the arm so that parts are right next to the circuit board.
The vise can be adjusted any way you need and it's heavy enough that it doesn't slide around the table as you're working on your circuit board.
The only hitch, and it's minor, is that the axle for the solder spool holder was missing.
Ive used Panavise products at work over the years. They are always sturdy, well designed and last forever.
First, once you get your circuit board in these jaws properly, working with it is great.
But trying to get the jaws spaced properly is … not great. The jaws ride on a piece of square tube and are tightened down with a machine screw into the corner, and that's the only mechanism. The raw metal-on-metal action is just as unsmooth as you'd guess. Trying to move a jaw by a millimeter is a real pain, and in order to get the jaws to hold a circuit board and release it when needed is going to require some millimeter-sized adjustments. A few gib springs would work a wonder, honestly. I wonder if retrofitting some would be feasible.
Also, mine was shipped with what appears to be a tumbling stone jammed inside the square tube, stuck right at the mounting hole. It was jammed in there real good, too. I thought I'd never get it out, but I was finally able to. A little QC would be nice. At least we know they're trying to polish burrs off.
I found it easy to adjust the PCB to a nice, low to the bench, 45 degree angle (see photos). Then, when I'm ready to flip the board, I would use the PCB release knob with my left hand, flip the board with my right hand and then lock it back in place again. The release knob has a pleasant, obviously well thought out shape as well as a nice smooth action. The vice's long "fingers" hold the PCB securely without a hint of hesitation. The "fingers" provide a nice smooth, secure surface on which to rest your pinky fingers to steady your hands.
It definitely makes the project much more enjoyable.
