Low Quality
Sometimes I see reviews that say "low quality", then argue that the cable isn't carbon fiber reinforced with gold plated connectors, so it must be low quality. That's not the kind of "low quality" I mean. What I mean is that the cable fell apart after a month. As a few other reviewers have said, the cable is fine _as long as you don't touch it_. I use the cable 'on the go', I plug it in only when I need it. After a month of light to moderate usage, the plastic coating has separated from one of the connectors. That's probably a grand total of 20 connections/disconnections from the computer. Obviously, it's pretty low quality, regardless of your definition, regardless of how you're using it. (I uploaded a picture of the broken cable so that you can see the issue) Bottom line: If the cable's just going to be sitting in a fixed location and never touched, and IF there's nothing in a similar price range that will suite your needs, this might be adequate. For any other usage, get something else.

It is surprising to me how many times I've needed a looooooooong length of data cable. It has done its job every time I needed it, and I still keep it coiled up and handy for future just-in-cases. Treat it right and it will always come through for you when wifi fails for whatever reason.

I have been using this for 12 years now for my gaming computer. It was way cheaper to purchase here than anywhere else. I bought the 25ft length which was just the right size for my set up.

The RiteAV cables have been value leaders for me. Low price and high quality in my experience.

I use them in my consulting and system management practice. This cable in particular is 75ft, NOT a common length. It happens to be a good option as the jump from 50' to 100' is a lot of extra cable if you need 60'!! This cable ran Gigabit Ethernet flawlessly.

The connector construction is excellent with sturdy plastic boots, effective anti-snag, and well made strain relief.

The only complaint is with the anti-snag design. It is effective at preventing the release tab from snagging with its "hoodie" like design. The problem is when there is little clearance on the tab side of the connector in the back of a computer or server. This is where the fairly thick hoodie cover over the tab can make it difficult to release the cable. I have some Tyan servers that fit category and use other cables with a different strain relief. This is an issue with a small number of computers in my experience and a small flat-tip screwdriver or expansion slot blank can be used to help release the cable lock tab in those cases.

Since it is overall an excellent cable it still earns 5 stars even though it's not my first choice for systems with little clearance on the network connector.

    Hope this helps someone!

The Network Ethernet cable is ideally suited for customers in need of a quick and reliable internet connection for connecting laptops, computers, and gaming devices that need an Ethernet source.

    Connectivity and Speed:
Gamers will enjoy the reliable connection the RiteAV cable can provide, this helps to reduce lag and latency in a game, allowing users a level playing field when playing competitively. The connectors on each end are gold plated allowing for the cable to be disconnected and reconnected hundreds of times. The RiteAV Ethernet cable is a great value, delivering transmission speeds up to 1000 megabytes per second. The extremely fast connection speed allows for great quality and fast streaming of high definition video, video games, video chatting with the ability to handle large face to face video conference calls.

    Adaptability:
Video streamers and gamers alike will enjoy the freedom a ten foot cable provides, allowing for a greater range of electronic placement to avoid sun glare, and provide the opportunity for multiple options when making overall room set up. The ten foot cord is ideally made for users that need a medium range of cable length without the hassle of getting tangled up or tripping over extra wires when moving around. The flexible ten foot long cord can be wound up and easily stored behind a TV, beneath a gaming console, or carried with your laptop.

    Durability:
The RiteAV cord allows for moderate wear and tear. The plastic/rubber covering the cable resists fraying from accidental rubbing, such as between a wall and a tv stand, keeping the cable safe and reliable to use. The network Ethernet cable is also easy to use. All that you need to do is pinch the snag less molded boot on one end and plug into the wall, and then to pinch the boot at the opposite end of the cable and plug into the desired device. To remove, all one has to do is pinch the boot and remove from the device or wall.

I hope you find as much enjoyment out of this cable as I did.

I tested the cable and it seemed to work as patch cable. I tested it with my cable tester and it passed the test.

I purchased the cable because it was inexpensive and I planned to use it in a different way. My plan was to use it as bulk wire, cut it and prepare custom length cables with a crimping tool.

As some reviewers point out, this cable does not meet Cat5e standards. The cable's wires were not in twisted pairs but in very thin strands. The colors on the wire casings were non-standard. They were all in solid colors and difficult to distinguish. Standard Cat5e cables are arranged in four twisted pairs - blue/white-blue, orange/white-orange, green/white-green, and brown/white-brown with conductors of a thicker gauge than these.

Needless to say, it was impossible to crimp these cables and I wasted my money.

It is understandable why some reviewers found these cables neither durable nor reliable.

The cable is not of good quality but at the $5.00 price, it might be worth a try as a patch cable.
