Great for reaching into wire harness plugs on appliances
Been a appliance repair tech for 25 years. Over the years I have found a few different ways to use my standard Fluke probes on difficult test points. I would strip the insulation back on wire harness so my test probe could make contact with the wire. I would also use very small nails or needles to probe the wire harness plugs on control boards. All of them procedures I found time consuming as I would have to do it with the power to the appliance off, make the connection and then power the appliance back up to continue my troubleshooting. These Fluke fine point tip adapters have changed all that for me. The are small enough that I can simply probe the wire harness plugs directly with the power on.Would be great if they came in some kind of case to protect them, but I did find slim case for clip on sunglasses that fit these two fine point tips along with my two Fluke alligator clips perfectly.Updated: March 23rd 2015Been using these tips for just about 1 1/2 years now. It amazes me just how handy they have been and that I have not broken or lost them yet. They are fairly flexible and I keep waiting for one to snap in half from me pushing on it to hard but that has yet to happen. Glad I spent the buck to gives these little gems a try. They have saved me so much frustration when working with plugs and wire harnesses.

Wow, these things are sharp! They come with little rubber caps, but if you aren't careful, they will pierce through those, as well. These tips slip onto the ends of the standard probes that came with my Fluke 177 multimeter. I purchased them because they were recommended as being able to be used with a breadboard. They do reach into the breadboard sockets and make good contact, but they do not penetrate deep enough into the sockets to be held there. I am still looking for a better solution, but for now, I can do what I need to do.

Wonderful probes for safely working on smaller electronics. Most of the probe is insulated with only the very sharp tip exposed. The probe tips fit Agilent or Keysight probes well. There is a another probe set from Fluke that looks like this, but this particular one is CAT rated.

Great quality. Worth the extra price to get the fluke brand. I’ve bought no name brands that don’t hold up to daily use. Ive only had this pair for a few months but they are great quality. I had my last pair for 10 years. Only reason I had to buy new ones is because I lost them.

I was hesitant to buy these as they seemed more like a WANT than a NEED, but I finally picked up a pair and I really like them. Needle sharp so they won't slide around on small connections and coated up to the tip so you don't short out other near by components. I'm an engineering student who frequently works on computer and phone boards and these just make things easier. These probably won't be of any use for automotive users and electricians, but if you are a repair tech or find yourself frequently troubleshooting small PCBs, get yourself a pair.

Umm... its Fluke, its a fine point..uhh one is black and one is red?
Its not rocket surgery, if you need needle probes, they are great.

Its even more fun when you toss them into your case because you are in a rush. Then on the next call, jam your hand into the case because you are still in a rush! Now as your fingers bleed you will remember that when it comes to high power, you don't really want to rush. Time to slow down, next call is not going away. Win Win!

Would it be cool if they had a small case, sure! But then it takes all the sport out of getting them out of the case.

Just received my Fluke Extended Fine Point Adapter set and have used them. They work great to test battery voltage on PLC battery connectors. Access to battery voltage is limited to the small connector that plugs into the PLC, and these test lead extenders make testing the batteries very easy. Shipping was fast to my location and arrived ahead of the estimated arrival date. They fit the Fluke TL175 test leads just like a glove and are much better than using a straight pin in an alligator clip.

They are great but a bit long considering they are pin sharp for a reason. Maybe it’s so you can cut them to desired length, in that case they are perfect
