Aside from the implausibility of the science (think of a race car or plane with a hard plastic frame instead of steel), I think the show's premise had a lot of potential. However, bad writing and so-so direction (also blamed on bad writing) killed what could have been a nice addition to the sci-fi genre.

I had no problem with the acting of the individual characters because I think they are all very capable (especially Katee whom I love from the Battlestar Galactica days). Michael Dinner is also very capable as a Director (loved his work on Justified). I'm thinking that NBC handed them a tight timeline/budget and said, "Here, make it happen because the show sells itself".

It might have been better NOT calling it the "Bionic Woman" because the name alone set expectations way too high for the money/time/effort involved. Rather than have a protracted argument with the shot-callers at the studio, everyone involved decided to say "F--- it" and just worked with what they had. Sad really, given the talent.

If it were me, I would have made her a female Wolverine type (sans metal claws) and THEN added the nano/bionic "enhancements" on top of the hyper-metabolism and alien-metal skeleton. Then, there's the musculature and central nervous system problems to work out, hmmm...maybe the nano tech and drugs can take care of that. And because we are using "alien" metal, maaaaybe there are subtle DNA changes taking place over time. To what? I wonder....

I wasn't aware of the criticism this show had, nor did I cared. This show had good action, humor, and a various stories going on within the story. Yes, she was the 50 million dollar woman which is hard to believe, unlike the original which took 60 million...lol This show failed for three reasons, one: NBC. The network was consistently loosing its viewers from all its programs (except for sports) while cable channels or CBS or even the internet like Netflix was growing in viewers. Second reason: Money! This show was very expensive to make, you had different locations, they did a lot of stunt work outside with cars and with Michelle Ryan (Bionic Woman or her stunt double), so ratings had to be up there, but it wasn't so they shut it down quickly as it was loosing money fast for the fading network. This show may have lasted longer if it was on CBS or a cable channel because it is a decent show to watch!

this was a wonderful show !! it really pissed me off when they let it go . michelle was great at it. i stoped watching nbc after they did that to this movie heros the journey man and life. i mean who the hell do they think they are doing that .. what a crappy company nbc is.. that was the best they ever had and they screw it up because someone didnt get enough money how much money does it take to make them happy !! atleast they put heros on again and its not to bad !! why not do it with the other shows .. and i know they had a dvd on the vol 2 but i cant find it now !! then nbc and matt really screwed up when they did that to anne curry. matts a little snot nosed s***. if i ever see him i am afraid i will beat his ass !! thinks he is so much better ..

I was so surprised about this show that I anticipate any future episodes. The new Bionic Woman has virtually nothing to with the original show (which I also loved) the need to replace the woman's parts was similar in that it was a traumatic injury but that is the only similarity. This Jamie Summers has a younger sister at home she has to worry about and her new "job" requires some secrecy so for the moment she isn't telling her sister what she is doing. There is quite a bit of danger in store for this new bionic woman and she faces it head on, she is one tough woman, so she gets a big thumbs up and a 'you go girl' from this retired army Amazon.

Being a fan of the original Bionic Woman, I find this new version pretty good. A good cast, some of the story plot need to get more backstory moving. The one area that I wish they would've kept was that prior to accident the Bionic Woman was a bartender, had lost a boyfriend and a baby. We see her deal with boyfriend loss a bit, but not baby. The sister storyline needs to get stronger.

Will we ever get the hint that there was first a 6 Million Dollar Man. Understand this is a new version, but keep some past besides the rogue 1st female Bionic Woman.

Good Show, its fun to watch

She met a man who was mystery is unknown who was that man, She has an accident with the same man...Got hit in a car by the big truck...she was end up other places at mystery military place that she went under surgery. Lost some of her body parts and turn her into bionic that freak her out. later she get away and shoot out in her speed into the woods! Awesome show!!! The Boss is piss off that she escape with her $6 Billion bionic !!!

Because this show in no way resembles the classic bionic woman, it is hard to rate the dvd of this new version. For me, it wasn't as bad as I remembered it when I saw it on tv. But then any tv show minus commercials is usually better. It could have been a better show if it hadn't been so dark and gloomy. I didn't hate it, and I didn't love it.

This series was a more dark version of Bionic Woman of the 1970s. Katee Sackhoff was scary as a early prototype that went crazy. It was cancelled when Jay Leno moved to his failed new show at 10:00 pm time slot 5 days a week. Lots of shows on NBC were moved around and cancelled. This show and Life with Damien Lewis were great shows from this year.
