Description

Glycine is a non-essential amino acid and has the simplest structure of all amino acids, allowing it to fit easily within protein chains and make space for structurally larger amino acids. This feature makes it very important for specific bodily functions. Glycine is also a precursor of creatine, which is used to construct DNA and RNA. And it supports glycogen storage, thereby making more glucose available for energy production.* The amino acid Glycine is non-chiral and only has one form without a D- or L- designation.

NOW Supplements Glycine Pure Powder will give you safe, restful sleep. It also has a major calming effect. It, together with a powerful supplement stack I am taking, as changed the quality of my life.

I am now experiencing longer, deeper sleep. Insomnia vastly improved. Anxiety is not just diminished, but gone. I no longer suffer from depression, OCD is vastly improved, focus is enhanced, brain fog cleared. I am experiencing weight loss, lost 2 1/2 inches off my waist, and credit all these effects to the glycine, in addition to the supplement stack I am now on. Pre-diabetes and insulin resistance is gone. BP normal. Healthy glucose/AC1/HDL/LDL levels on my blood test. No dietary/exercise changes, but I look and feel 20 years younger. I have energy! My doctor is amazed. 6 weeks is all it took for me.

This Glycine powder is pure, has no undesirable taste, and is super easy to talk. I stir it in my coffee with hazelnut non fat, non dairy creamer, and I find it does not change the taste. I like the fact that it is pure glycine, not mixed with additives I find in capsule form. And as it is powder, you can easily take the exact amount you want, so you control your own dosage.

I have had a prolonged, challenging rough patch in my life to deal with. Add to that, I'm a chronic insomniac and because of severe PTSD, I suffer from being in a constant state of hyper alertness, with tensed muscles and catch myself with clenched hands and tense shoulder/neck. Trying to lay down and sleep like that is impossible. Trying to just function normally throughout my day was impossible. Trying to function on two or three hours of sleep is impossible. In addition, all this causes high levels of cortisol and adrenaline; I watched my waist expanding. My cholesterol went sky high, my blood pressure soared, and I was diagnosed pre-diabetic.

My GP bugged me for over a year to try an Rx, and when I finally caved out of desperation, the prescription medications made my symptoms worse as well as I experienced a few new ones, including frightening hand tremors. Tossed those medications in the trash the first week. I started doing research, tried a few natural supplement combinations that did not worked, and finally found the combination that does. Glycine is an important and integral part of the natural, clinically proven combo that has changed my life.

I usually add this Glycine Powder to my midmorning coffee, then again add a bit to a beverage early evening. I immediately feel the calm and experience true relaxation.

I started out by taking 3 g / day. It's been hard to notice the effect on OCD with the recommended daily dosage of 3 g / day. It might be helping with sleep, but I'm not sure. I was taking Ashwagahnda, Magnolia Bark, Inositol, and GABA when I started Glycine, so I didn't really have any discernible sleep issues to begin with due to their effects. I occasionally have trouble falling asleep; Glycine may have contributed to helping me fall asleep faster - I'm not sure. I should note that with all of the supplements combined, I sure do feel a lot less fatigue then I did before taking them. It does seem to relax me, but it's hard to attribute this effect to Glycine and not other supplements.

But the real point of me taking this is for my OCD. The dosage for OCD in some clinical trials seems to be around 60 g daily. 60 g seems a bit high for the price because I would have to buy a new bottle about every week. So I just increased my dosage to 10 g / day. Will update if I notice improvements with my OCD.

No complaints about the product itself. It has a nice taste - very much like sugar or sweeteners. It can take a lot of stirring for it to dissolve in water, but it's not a big deal.

One last note: The bottle says that 3/4 teaspoon is approximately 3 g, but it is exactly 3.75 g. So if you want to take 10 g and use the bottle approximation of 3 g per 3/4 teaspoon as a conversion factor, you will actually be taking 12.5 g. This becomes more useful the higher the dosage is and the more precise the consumer wants to be; this is likely to apply to people with OCD, so I figured it was worth mentioning.

The effects were noticed the first night. I am noticeably more drowsy. I fall asleep right away. I will wake at my usual time but fall right back to sleep. I am a bit slower to get moving after 8 hours of sleep, but can feel normal once I am up. I will shout out to everyone this product is worth trying. I take 1/2 teaspoon which is rounded.

I already take so many supplements I wanted to mix it up. This powder form is great. Honestly I cannot get it to dissolve but I don’t care. I basically just spoon it into my mouth and down it with water. Sweet taste but not too sweet.
I have taken magnesium in different forms for years but I’ve hit a wall as far as sleep goes about eight months ago. No matter what time I went to bed at night I would wake up wide awake at either 3 AM or 4 AM and rarely would I be able to fall asleep. My first night taking glycine I woke up at 4 AM and went right back to sleep. That is how I’ve been every night since! I seem more calm and focused throughout the day but I can’t tell if it’s because I’m finally getting good sleep every night or if it’s the glycine. Either way it is the glycine. I have bought a lot of them Now brand supplements and have been very happy with it. From what I can tell, all the reviews are saying the same thing and there is a reason behind it. This is good stuff!

I take 1/4 teaspoon (1 gram) once or twice throughout the day and then again at bedtime. But I don't mix it in water. I just drop 1/4 teaspoon on my tongue and chase it down slowly with plenty of water. The taste is certainly kind of freaky sweet at first, but after two weeks, I can say the taste doesn't bother me at all now. I intend to keep using it. This large 1 pound bottle holds at least 150 three gram servings (which I assume is 450 one gram servings), so it should last a while.

寝つきが悪く浅い眠りに困っていましたが、これを飲む様になってからは、寝つきは勿論、眠りも深くなりました。また、日中も疲れにくくなって来た様に感じます。これからも継続したいと思います。
