Although a little more uneven than Season 1, the second season of Frisky Dingo heads an entirely different direction.
At the end of Season 1, Killface -- or rather his son -- attempted to destroy the Earth by flinging it into the sun, by way of a gigantic rocket motor. Well, the plan failed and instead the planet was moved a few feet away from the sun...coincidentally solving the problem of global warming. (Not at all what Killface had in mind.)
As one might surmise from the DVD cover, Killface decides to use his accidental fame and run for President of the United States. Weirdness and hilarity ensue.
The only sad part is Season 2 is where the Frisky Dingo saga comes to an end. The planned 'Xtacles' spinoff show never came to be. Still, glad to have this as part of my collection.
It surprises and saddens me that not that many people have even heard of this show much less seen it. I've talked to many people who say they are Adult Swim fans but haven't even heard of Frisky Dingo. This show is hilarious, totally brilliant. It covers everything from witty satire to raunchy dick jokes, and does so without seeming typical or overdone. I laugh out loud at least once an episode, which doesn't happen all that often when watching other shows. I definitely recommend watching the first season before this one, there's a lot of references to past characters and events. Even if you don't though, this season is amazing by itself.
This is one of the most smart and humorous animated series ever. It's a shame it only lasted 2 seasons. If you haven't watched it, you should remedy that soon.
I've noticed that DVDs come in more and more flimsy containers each year. This one is the most flimsy I've ever seen. The plastic is as thin as possible and it isn't even solid. I like the fact that they aren't being wasteful and trying to use as little plastic as necessary but this is almost to the point of - might as well fold a piece of paper around the DVD and call it good.
Frisky Dingo is an American animated cartoon series created by Adam Reed and Matt Thompson for Adult Swim. The series revolved around the conflict between a supervillain named Killface and a superhero named Awesome X, alias billionaire Xander Crews, and much of the show's humor focuses on parodying superhero and action movie clichés. Master Cylinder!!
Killface and the gang are back for season two, wherein KF and Xander run for president against each other. Unlike many other series, FD had some excellent staying power, as season two was just about as entertaining as season one was, and therefore gets my vote for highly recommended; KillFace and Xander Crews fans alike, will have much to laugh about!
I've been watching this show since it first started. Season 1 was incredible and season 2 is even better. This is the best show I have ever seen. It's absolutely hilarious.
If you don't like this show, I suggest you start from season 1 episode 1 and watch it all the way through, in order. This is the type of show where you can't just watch a random episode and enjoy it (aka Aqua teen). You have to follow the story.
The extras on the dvd are hilarious. They are build up to the short lived Xtacles show, which I didn't really like.
Also, unfortunately, the company the created Frisky Dingo, 70-30, went under, so there won't be anymore dingo for a while. I believe one of the creators is working on a show for FX right now though, so that might be good.
