Perfect sleeping bag for couples!

This is a quality down filled sleeping bag! It zips up on both sides, it has inserts to make a pillow, and it even has neck flaps to go around your neck and shoulders to keep the cold air from coming in. I'm 6'1" and had more than enough room. This bag is perfect for cuddling but is spacious enough to have your own personal space if need be. It's the perfect combination of size and weight. Be aware that it is not insulated on the bottom, but has sleeves for a standard sized Big Agnes or other brands air mattress.

We purchased two Big Agnes Insulated Q-Core SL 20" x 72" x 3.5" air pads. They fit perfect into the sleeves and being 3.5 inches thick, per very comfortable and warm, plus they only weigh 14 ounces each....amazing! I had a perfect nights sleep both nights of camping!

I recommend this bag for backpacking couples as it is only about a pound heavier than a single person down sleeping bag and you only have to carry bag for the two of you.....your wife will love you for that! Further, it works perfect for car camping as well. I highly recommend it!!!

I actually love this bag. I did not find any gap between the pads using the Exped Downmat 7 sleeping pads with this sleeping bag- it creates one big seamless mat. I think you do need to invest in some thick pads to make this really comfortable. There is a lot of room in this bag so you won't feel constricted at all. I have not tested it at 15 degrees but it was cozy and warm in the high 30's (I get cold easily). I think it is a good value and pretty light considering it is a bag for two. We plan to use it for backpacking with one person carrying the bag and the other a tent. Not ultralight, but pretty light and very very comfortable. Will be excellent for car camping also.

This sleeping bag is fantastic. Love the features like the pillow slots, etc.

IT would have received 5 stars if it had come with a better compression sack (also there is no down on the bottom - I knew this when purchasing and it hasn't been a problem, however it is still unusual!). My boyfriend and I use this hiking and had to buy a new compression sack to get it to fit better in the pack. It can be reduced down significantly from the sack it comes with (much closer to the size stated in the product description).

Haven't tested out in super cold conditions yet (e.g. below 30 or down to 15 as stated) but so far its been nice and warm. Side zips are a great feature. Very pleased I bought this one instead of a pair of zip together sleeping bags.

Wow! What can I say. I love this bag. My wife and I were looking for a bag we could take backpacking, sleep together to share the warmth, and weighed less than or close to 5 lbs. This bag fit all the criteria. It compresses down to about 10" by 10" and is lightweight considering it equals a 2.5 lb. bag each if we had to cary our own. I cary the 5 lb. tent and my wife carried the 5 lb. tent. Here are the features I love about this bag. The weight, down filled, the integrated sleeping pad sleeve (this is so awesome, never fall off my pad again), the pillow pockets! (so cool), the no draft collar, and the double heavy duty zippers. The only wish was that Big Agnus had included the compression sack. For the price that should have been thrown in. Overall it is a great bag and I highly recommend it!

A few mods to make work better...

First off, this bag is huge! I was a little worried at first if it would be too small, ha!

I give it three stars because of some "flaws" I think could have been changed by Big Agnes. The double pad compartments are not good if you are a spooner/cuddler with your partner. They sit a few inches apart and you either end up squeezed onto one pad or sprawled strangely across two for comport. We ripped the stitching out and made a coupler (borrowed the design from Thermarest) for our pads and now it's MUCH better. Although now there is too much room and the lack of down on the bottom of the bag makes a nice cold spot. Next change will be to cut the length of the bag bottom, take out the excess nylon and sew it smaller so there will be no wiggle room for the pads and the down sides will hopefully meet up with the pad edges.

It is indeed warm, once you warm it up and close up the draw strings by your head. I think if the bag were smaller with one large pad sleeve, I would give it 5 stars. I think sleeping side by side on separate pads is kind of stupid for a two person bag...I mean, isn't the point to get close and snuggly for body warmth? If you are a spooner, feel free to add a third person because they will fit!

If you're tired of mummy bags for staying warm on cold nights and like to cuddle with a partner, this bag fills the bill. We used it in freezing weather and found it to be much nicer than we thought it would be. We didn't have the pads to use in the pad compartments so we used our old mummy bags under us and even though we slept on a queen sized air mattress we didn't have any cold coming from underneath. I'm hoping the pads we bought, the Big Agnes Insulated Air Core Pads, will also work as well. This bag stuffs into a pretty small stuff sack but I think you could get it even smaller if you wanted to. It comes with another bag that you can use to put the pads in, or maybe a couple of small pillows like we did. Originally I thought this sleeping bag was a little pricey but it totally made sleeping in cold weather nice and comfy so it was worth it.

big agnes saved my life

In May I moved from Miami to Colorado. Now that cooler weather has set in I sleep in 'big agnes' on top of my bed every night. It is extremely light weight and I can adjust the temperature by the degree that I open the side zippers. I don't need a pile of big blankets to keep me warm. I have 'big agnes.' My cat love it too.
