It's big & heavy rack mountable UPS & seems be made with quality. A bit loud (clicking) when trying to compensate for poor quality / inconsistent power, but it does it's job, well it did, until it didn't, from working fine & only 2 bars as far as the load. 30+ min. of run time, then

1. Battery Disconnects, goes to 0%
2. Receive an error "Name: Batteries are not present" which in turn leads to an instant "Available run time is insufficient"
(Zero battery is obviously insufficient), within 1 min., it's fine, "Batteries have been installed" & back to 100%

This would repeat & a loud alarm would go off (as it should when there is no electricity) but there was electricity, everything else in the office was fine, just this alarm going off for a minute at a time from 5 - 20 times a day.

I wrote the company an email, they sent a FedEx mailer to send it back. They said they received it, but the cord was cut. I asked if there was damage to the box? They didn't answer that question, they just said there was nothing they could do with a cut cord. What do I do now? Tell them to send it back so I can fix the cord? I didn't fight, I can't claim anything since it's their FedEx account & I will just move to another UPS company.

** Update ** 2/25/2013
After the reading the comment of my review, I sent the invoice. Just as promised a tracking number was furnished the next day & a brand new unit arrived a few days later, which has been working perfectly since. Thank you Mr. Miesen for your support, professionalism & follow up.

Mr Bologna - the unit was received in an unopened undamaged box with the cord cut at a diagonal. Please email me a copy of your Amazon invoice at pmiesen@cpsww.com and I will make sure that if the unit is still under the original 3 year warranty we will repair or replace the UPS system. Thank you for your CyberPower purchase.

I replaced an older APC unit with this UPS and am very happy. One of the devices it is protecting is a 120W load and VERY sensitive to power glitches. The APC unit would cause problems when switching to backup power.

With this unit, switching to backup power has no impact on the device - it just works!

Support from CyberPower via email (all that it offered) was 48 hours (2 business days). The supplied instructions do not describe how to rotate the display when switching from rack to tower configuration. (Answer: use a little screwdriver on each side of the display unit and pop it out to rotate).

It is a very nice UPS but does not support my equipment. I have experienced about 3-4 abrupt power outages and this unit goes off with the power. I then have to power cycle the UPS to get it to power up and to power my equipment back up. It seems like this unit cannot handle abrupt loss of power; which essentially, it is designed to do??? This was an expensive unit and I thought I was making a good investment. I will be looking at other brands because I cannot afford to have damaged equipment or data loss on my NFS/CIFS servers. As you can see from the attached image I have more than enough capacity with only a load of 63%.

In addition to looking for a solid UPS that would produce clean power for my home office server rack, I also wanted one that would 1) work natively with my Synology RS812+ SAN and shut it down if it was low on battery, 2) quiet operation (the rack is in my office) and 3) a useful display panel (because I like blinky lights ok). This UPS meets all of those criteria perfectly. I now get nice alerts via email from my SAN when the power is out and a safe shutdown when needed, the unit is silent except when the power is out, and even then, it's pretty quiet and there are all sorts of buttons for me to press to get pointless indicators of line voltage or time remaining or other things that I love having but never look at (I know, it's irrational, but i like it). I also looked at the similar APC models (i've used pretty much only APC for a decade now) but after becoming increasingly skeptical of APC's prosumer grade stuff I decided to try something new and this unit was definitely less expensive than it's APC equivalent. So far i'm not disappointed.

I had a previous desktop unit worked great. This one, the fan spins for no reason, win load is minimal or near-zero. I have it in an AV rack with temps never going above 80F. Submitted a support ticket, and haven't heard back for 3 weeks! Going to call one more time. FOr now, I cant recommend the product given the unusual fan activity and the poor support. I might just forget the UPS and go back to a quality simple surge protector. For now folks, look elsewhere. I will update my review if I get some sort of answer from Cyberpower.

This unit is really HEAVY with 4 12V 7.2AH batteries. It is in a very sturdy metal case and comes with vertical support brackets as well as rack mounting brackets.

When in standby use, it is TOTALLY silent AND cold... room temperature... no plastic smell or hot case typical of many plastic case lesser UPSs.

Only when the unit is delivering battery backup power does it become noisy because of a cooling fan that comes on only when it is delivering battery power. I do not use it to operate my computers in a power failure... used just to save files and shut down several computers when there is a power failure.

The supplied software seems to work fine to shut down computers and after that to shut down the UPS to conserve remaining battery charge.
