The movie is exactly what I remembered. I bought this DVD because of a fond memory. I wasn't expecting much with the movie because I had already seen it. It is nothing like the first Meatballs so if your thinking about purchasing this to satisfy a hunger for more after watching the first one you may be disappointed. Nostalgia got me again :)

Where to start on this film. Well the movie is basically crap, there is nothing really redeeming about it. The acting is all B grade material. But as you the viewer your kind of aware of that fact coming in. This film has none of the charm or raunchy teenage comedy of the first film and that is what really drives these types of movies. The alien scenario was probably brought in by Tristar pictures at the last minute to capitalize on the ET craze going on at the time. The sad thing is meathead is probably the most interesting character in the movie. I totally don't buy the boxing match with "Flash" wearing a dress just comes off as stupid to me. You really miss Bill Murray or a star of his magnitude to help move this picture along. In the first film you had a camp full of screwballs and cliqued counselors but you buy it and can relate to the characters and their camp experiences. This film has none of that fun innocence or charm. I have seen this film several times and I rarely laughed during the whole movie a bad sign for a comedy. It probably won some raspberry awards for worse film of the year. If it didn't it should have. I would give it a 2 star rating and just watch the first film instead. All further entry's to the series would be mediocre as well. They should have called the film something else. Meatballs started being like Jaws with each sequel getting worse.

Good little 80's sequel to Meatballs (although I really wouldn't call it a sequel)! Fun movie with lots of laughs and even an alien!

Not as good as the first movie but still fun, Meathead makes it worth while.
