I used the Corsair to upgrade my 2GB T400 (Lenovo) to 4GB. Installation was quick and uneventful and my laptop (runs Windows 7 Enterprise) immediately recognized the new memory. My computer appears to be performing better post-upgrade.

For what this sells, it can't get much better.

Before ordering, you should make sure that this is EXACTLY what you need. While DDR3 transfer at twice the data rate of DDR2, they are physically incompatible with DDR2 slots so you can't upgrade from DDR2 to DDR3. You should also be aware that the amount of available memory depends on the operating system and the way your computer is configured (BIOS) so you may not be able to use the all the memory in your system until you install to a 64-bit OS and/or upgrade your BIOS.

To me, it's an easy 5 stars.

Specs:

- Peak transfer rate: 8533 MB/s
- Cycle time: 7.5 ns
- Memory clock @ 133 MHz
- I/O bus clock @ 533 MHz
- ONE 2GB module
- Limited (what does it mean?) lifetime warranty but there is no warranty statement
- Made in Taiwan

The memory card installed in a flash and booted perfectly and worked with no hitches. Recommended.

More detailed notes: I ordered this to go into a 2 year old Samsung NF310 netbook to make it a useful Linux machine. Specifically, I did three things: increase the memory from 1GB to 2GB with this card; replace the HD with a 120GB Kingston SSD; and replace Windows 7 with Ubuntu Linux (specifically, with Lubuntu, the lightweight version). Whereas Windows 7 Starter took several minutes to boot and log in, Lubuntu is so fast that it's astounding. Less that 5 seconds from the time it displays the OS boot screen until login. Of course if you need Windows, it's another matter, but Lubuntu may turn your netbook into an extremely fast and serviceable machine, especially for Internet browsing.

In any case, the memory card here works great so far and that would be the same with Windows or whatever OS you're using; I will update if that changes. Cheers!

Works great to upgrade a late 2009 Mac Mini. 2.26GHz Intel Core 2 Duo. I had 2G installed and upgraded to OS X 10.7.2 and found that it was very slow. The new OS must be bumping into memory limits. Running the system analyzer, I could see that my usual tasks (e-mail, web, itunes) left only 128M of free memory and some multi-second lags when switching applications. Installing TWO of these memory cards made a huge difference. Much faster responses and no lagging.

Installing is a challenge - there are many on-line tutorials to guide you. It's an involved operation as you need to use a putty knife to pry apart the Mac Mini case. The putty knife is needed to release the plastic tabs holding the case together. You then need to remove 3 antennas, 4 screws and wiggle the drives off the top of the stack. After this, the memory is in the usual memory sockets. It's good to have a can of compressed air available to blow out dust that has probably accumulated over time.

This Ram causes my Mac Mini to Kernel panic a lot. I am rather dissappointed in the quality of it. While Amazon does an amazing job ensuring that the product gets to you quickly it just seems like they dind't do the QC on this particular set of SO-DIMMS. I am torn as to whether I would buy it again likely I would spend the little extra to get Crucial Memory. I think if there wasn't a back order on Crucial memory I would return this to Amazon.com. But because I can't get a better quality product in a timely manner from Amazon I will settle for this. :(

This is a single 2GB DDR3 memory SODIMM stick used for laptops/netbooks and some nettops. (This will NOT work for desktop PCs). Works fine for me but make sure your PC requires DDR3 memory. If you have a netbook and want to double the default 1GB to 2GB this is what you most likely need (you may have to remove the old 1GB and install this one as most netbooks only have 1 memory slot and are limited to 2GB memory total).
As with all memory I highly recommend running some sort of memory diagnostic to ensure that it is working correctly - either using "memtest86+" (note the PLUS sign is important) or "Windows Memory Diagnostic mtint.exe" (Do a search for the quoted text and you should find links). Leave it running overnight and you'll find out if everything is OK or not.
THE BAD:
- The only downside to this is the packaging. The memory is basically inside a thin cardboard package and while environmentally friendly I do not consider this packaging adequate to protect against "real world" shipping damage, especially if there are other heavy items in the box. Also to open this you need to use a knife and cut the dotted line at the back of the package. Do NOT attempt to "cut through" the plastic holder containing the memory itself as you may damage it.
I hope you have found this helpful!

This was the best 20 tech-$ I've ever spent!

My low-end MacBook (aluminum, late 2008), purchased more or less experimentally, became more and more important to me, and - with the various OS X updates - had become rather sluggish. My MacBook came with 2GB of RAM (2x1GB). I ordered two 2GB cards - the max for this machine - knowing that increasing one's RAM is the very first step toward performance-improvement. The cards arrived in 4 days, and 15 minutes and 8 tiny screws later (be sure to have a set of precision screwdrivers on hand, specifically the #0 Phillips head), I was in business.

And to think that Apple wants $100 EACH! Ridiculous.

Startup immediately recognized the new memory, and took a fraction of the time of "old" startups/restarts. Performance is DRAMATICALLY IMPROVED, and my aging, entry-level MacBook again performs like a pro! Moreover, my original battery, well past its official 300 charges, now lasts doubly long, maybe 3, even 4, hours - no more insufficient RAM writing to hard disk, thus bogging everything down. I haven't once heard the hard drive's cooling fan come on since my upgrade. Do refer to Apple's instructions here:
