Liquitex BASICS Acrylic Paint is developed for students and artists that need quality at outstanding value. Each color is uniquely formulated to bring out the maximum brilliance and clarity of the individual pigment. Basics Acrylic Paint is a heavy body acrylic with a 'buttery' consistency for easy blending. It contains permanent artist pigments and it retains peaks and brush strokes. It is ideal for learning color theory and color mixing and is intermixable with all Liquitex Professional Acrylic Colors and Mediums. I wanted to try some different paints for gelli plate printmaking and these fit the bill nicely. They are technically student grade paints so the colors aren't quite as rich as with artist grade paints, but still have a decent pigment load, and cover much better than the craft paints I have been using, especially for multiple layered prints. The paint spreads smoothly on the gelli plate. I don't seem to need to use as much paint for each print, so I think the paints will last longer. Great color selection and price.
