A safe, stylish alternative to plastic water bottles, Sigg water bottles are a great choice for transporting beverages on your daily commute or while backcountry hiking. This ultra-lightweight bottle is extruded from a single piece of aluminum and holds 1 liter of fluid (33.8 ounces). Designed to fit your on-the-go lifestyle, it comes with a loop top bottle cap, which can be secured via hook or caribiner clip to a backpack or daypack.

Sigg bottles are virtually unbreakable and are constructed with no seams, ensuring a long-lasting, leak-proof performance. They also feature Sigg's proprietary baked-on inner liner, which is made from a non-toxic, water-based epoxy resin that exceeds FDA requirements for leaching (0.0 percent) and is independently tested to be taste- and scent-neutral. Every Sigg bottle is 100 percent recyclable at the end of its life, and is backed by a lifetime warranty.

About Sigg
It all started with a simple hiker’s bottle. Today, the SIGG bottle has acquired cult status. What happened is a success story that started in Biel, Switzerland in 1908. Küng, Sigg & Cie. manufactured leisure goods, kitchenware, and electrical appliances. The company relocated to Frauenfeld in 1916, where it helped pioneer the legendary tradition of Swiss quality. Since 1998, SIGG has concentrated on its core business: drinking bottles that deliver ultimate customer benefit.

Frequently Asked Questions:
Q: Can Sigg bottles be used for boiling water?
A: No. Strong heat can damage the outer coating.

Q: Can dents in the bottle damage the Sigg bottle's inner coating?
A: No, the Sigg inner coating is highly elastic. Dents cannot crack or chip the internal lining and the Sigg bottle remains perfectly usable.

Q: Can I use my Sigg bottle for carbonated drinks?
A: Yes, all Sigg bottle tops provide a 100 percent seal and will not leak. It's recommended that you fill the bottle no further than 1/2-inch below the lip. And before taking a drink, relieve the pressure inside the bottle by gently rotating the entire top.

Q: Are Sigg bottles dishwasher safe?
A: Yes, but because of the narrow mouth of the bottle, hand washing is recommended.

Q: Can a Sigg bottle be placed in the freezer
A: No, as this may cause the bottle to crack. However, the bottle can be chilled in the refrigerator.

I purchased this bottle expecting quality for what I paid for it. I brought this thing hiking with me and dropped it in the dirt from about 4 feet which caused 2 big dents in the bottom. A couple months later I noticed that the inner line was starting to peel off where the cap screws on, leaving shards of plastic falling off into my water. I decided to purchase a Klean Kanteen to replace it, Best $20 I have ever spent, The thing is stainless steel and not cheap aluminum, no plastic liner, strong and durable. I would highly suggest looking into the Klean Kanteen instead of this bottle.

These bottles were great(at first!). I ordered 4 of them, two of the 1 liter bottles, and two children's bottles. All 4 bottles worked as expected, until we started having problems with the inner lining. The lining started peeling away after about 6 months. This happened at the same time for the bottles that were getting the same amount of use. The fourth bottle did not have the same issue, but, it was not getting used nearly as much. We threw all 4 bottles away due to the issue. We will not order Sigg bottles again, especially when the company will not tell anyone what the lining is made of.

ive had many siggs over the years but i have to say the ecoliner does have a strong plastic/paint type smell and thats how the drink ends up tasting.
not sure if its the strong smell coming out or its actually imparting the taste to the liquid but its not nice. the old liner (pre 2009 bpa scandal) was much better and left no taste or odor but had the bpa issue.
ive never had problems with mine but could well imagine if used daily the liner flaking off and cap not screwing would happen as others described.
still cant beat using a glass bottle imo.

I tend to carry a water bottle with me everywhere. I've gone through a variety of bottles over the years, but this was the first metal bottle I tried. I bought the 0.6 L variety.

Let me start off by saying that these are very well built, durable, and tightly sealed water bottles. In fact this type of bottle is suitable for soda, unlike most bottles. As for the 0.6 L variety specifically, it is compatible with every water bottle or cup holder I've used. It also has a pretty wide base for its volume, making it much harder to knock over than most water bottles.

I have had several minor issues with this bottle. Some of them apply to metal bottle's generally. For instance, these bottles aren't see-through. This makes it easy to overfill (not so much of a problem with water, but a major inconvenience with anything else) and it also makes it difficult to tell how clean the bottle is inside. Being made of metal also means that the temperature retention of these bottles is extremely poor, which not only means that your drink will reach room temperature faster, but also that it sweats heavily when filled with cold water.

These issues really made me question the advantage of a metal water bottle. Lack of exposure to BPAs was my primary reason for considering a metal bottle. However, these bottles use plastic liners. This may not expose you to BPAs, but by the same argument, nearly any plastic water bottle makes the same claim.

The design of the bottle seems to be oriented more toward durability and reliability than toward convenience. For instance, the bottle has a small opening, making it nearly impossible to clean without a special brush. Also, the cap has a large number of threads, which provides a very tight and reliable seal, but it's an inconvenient to remove many times a day (it requires about 3.5 full rotations).

Despite the apparent negativity of this review, I'd recommend this bottle strongly to someone looking for reliability, durability, and appearance. However, if you are looking for convenience I'd recommend a plastic bottle, and if you're specifically trying to avoid plastics, I'd recommend a steel bottle (one that doesn't have a plastic liner).

I have a 1.0 liter Sigg classic bottle I use for carbonated water. It works perfectly and always holds pressure.

When I first purchased the bottle, it would leak pressure after a few minutes of being sealed. I was disappointed, as a previous Sigg (now lost) had always held pressure with no problems. I went to Sigg's website and found their customer service phone number. My call was picked up on the first ring by a real human being.

I told her my problem and she explained to me that Sigg has changed their screw top to have less threads. This makes it easier to unscrew, but sometimes causes leaks when carbonated drinks are put in the bottle. She offered to express ship me a old-style cap at no cost.

I got the cap in the mail yesterday. My bottle now holds pressure with no problem!

I am extremely impressed with Sigg's customer service. Their bottles are expensive compared to some others, but in this case you get what you pay for.

I bought one of these and used it lightly, but the coating flaked off both inside and outside of the bottle near the screw mechanism. while the outside was just cosmetic, I didn't feel comfortable with the interior coating coming off (since i'd drink those flakes) so I got a replacement. SIGG was very responsive and sent me one for free ( i just had to pay to ship it to their office). But, now the replacement bottle has a puncture in the bottom. The design is not durable at all! I have several Klean Kanteen bottles that have withstood much more abuse and still look almost new. Go for those instead.
