Perfect for chalkboard lettering
I had been using regular chalk to try to letter chalkboards for my niece's wedding but I wasn't able to achieve a neat, elegant look. I ordered these markers and they were just perfect for the job. I am extremely happy with the ease of use and the end result.

I bought this chalk marker because the sound and feel of writing with actual chalk sends shivers up my spine. I'm happy to report that the chalk marker performs reliably, and most importantly without the feel or sound of real chalk! It can be hard to erase (like chalk, actually) but a wet paper towel or my finger will take care of it. It is worth noting that it enough like real chalk that you should be sure to season your chalk board/paper/label before using the chalk marker (seasoning is covering the chalk board completely in chalk, then erasing it. This prevents the first words written from being forever a chalk shadow on the surface.)

When something says "chisel tip", I expect it to be more of a Sharpie-type tip. This is a regular marker tip, which makes it very difficult to write small. Also, this is one of those 'shake before using, then press firmly to surface to start flow of product' markers. I bought this to use on Chalkboard Labels (also purchased through Amazon) but for me, it's not working well at *all*! When I try to write small, the product is so thin that my letters look like blobs. I've tried turning it every way that I can to get a clean, thin line - no go. All in all, very disappointed with this.

I bought this to label pantry items (chalk labels on spice jars and pantry jars). The marker writes well and the ink does wash off so may be reaplied. It has a larger tip so it works quite well on larger labels (flour, sugar), but is somewhat difficult on the small labels (spice). I'm glad I have it for the large labels, but am looking for a narrow tip version now.

This chalk marker beautifully glammed up my OXO containers of cereal, rice, flour, and sugar. I am able to write on top of the plastic what the contents are. It wipes away with water - a pro and a con. This is great because if you mis-write, or change your mind, it's a temporary solution. However it will also smudge with damp fingers, or aggressive dry fingers. The benefit outweighs the con, though, so I maintain 5 stars.

You shake the pen (like those old style white-out pens) and write with a chisel tip. The pen has an easy flow for short messages. I have not checked it with long periods of writing.

At this price, give it a shot and mark up some containers!

This pen makes everything organized and nice looking, but it is a pain in the butt to remove, so I would recommend to not mess up!(Magic Eraser works wonderful to remove) My first use to test it out I ended up making a giant mess because it ran all over the place, because I pushed too hard on the tip to get the liquid out. But I really like how nice it makes the chalkboard look, and it is smooth to write with.

I like the way the chalk marker wrote, BUT IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO ERASE FROM A CHALKBOARD. I purchased at the same time two vintage crates with chalkboard end panels. It so happens that one of the crates was cracked so badly on one end that it is a definite that it will break sooner rather than later. Problem is ... I didn't realize this until I had already personalized one end of the crate. When I realized the crate was broken and I needed to return it, I tried EVERYTHING to erase this "chalk" writing. Nothing worked. This product WILL NOT WORK ON CHALKBOARDS ... kinda defeats the purpose of a CHALK writer, huh? Be VERY CAREFUL what you write on if you purchase this product.

It does say "for use with wet erase boards" but I'm just going to use it for chalk labels, so anxious to see how it does. Probably OK if it stays permanent, as am marking jars housing spice/bulk items. Will update when it arrives. Only complaint I have so far is ordered on Monday with Prime; won't arrive till Friday. (Five star rating until proven otherwise!)
UPDATE: Still *****, ma peeps. Screwed up my first few chalk labels and ERASED THEM!! :) I used a paper towel with vinegar and water (kept in a spray bottle in our house) and it worked perfectly. Label was like new. Don't treat this like chalk on a board. Be smart, ma peeps, and the universe will reward you for your due diligence.

I bought this to use for my son's wedding. I volunteered, along with my first daughter-in-law, to take care of the candy bar. We decided to use little chalkboards to identify the candies. First we tried regular chalk, and it was hard to make the little signs look nice. This pen is really easy to use, and it wipes off easily with a damp paper towel. BUT - be aware that it is not for a regular chalkboard, because it will not come off of that surface. It will come off of the now popular vinyl chalkboards and also from glass.
