I've ordered 5 of these so far and plan to order 3 more. So far they've gone in several Mac Pro 1,1, 2,1, and 3,1 machines, and each time there have been no problems. Typically I am installing Radeon HD 5770s, but I've also used this with Radeon X1900XT cards and Nvidia 8800GT cards.

They work seamlessly with at least 3 models of Mac Pro and every graphics card with which I've used. them. For $5, what more could you ask for?

I used two of these to power an ATI Radeon 5870 video card placed inside a Mac Pro early 2008. The cables attached to the motherboard on the left side (if looking at the motherboard with it standing upright), next to the plastic slot holder that looks something like this [OOOO]. This is important because I couldn't find where to plug it in at first and was worried. It's best to plugin these cables first and then insert the video card at an angle. I hope this helps someone else.

Picked up two of these for my new graphics card. Work just fine in my Mac Pro 3,1 (Early 2008). I was about to buy just any old 6-pin-to-6-pin power cord before I found out that the Mac Pro's have a "mini" 6-pin adapter on the motherboard. You have to get one of these special, Mac-specific cards. That said, the plugs fit perfectly in the adapters on both the motherboard and the card. However...

They JUST made it into the power ports on my card. Seriously, an 1/8 of an inch shorter and I would've been out of luck. No body else seems to mention this, so my guess might be that my Mac (noted above) has the ports just slightly further away from PCI slots or that my graphics card (EVGA model) has its ports slightly further down on the PCB. Or both.

Once in, though, everything seems great. There is only a little bit of strain put on the card/PCI slot and the motherboard as a result of the slightly short cable. It's so little that I'm not concerned about it.

In all, the thing does exactly what it says it will. A 1/4 to 1/2 of an inch more cable and I would've given this guy a full 5 stars.

Also, as a note for others looking to use these cables in a Mac Pro 3,1:
The ports on the motherboard were a little tricky to reach, being slightly behind the fans at the front of the case. I have beefy hands and was cursing my fate in life trying to get the mini 6-pin into the motherboard. May want to call your friend with dainty hands over. Doesn't impact the actual functionality or the final setup of the product. More just a heads up for others.

Yeah, it's hard to get too excited over something so mundane but it makes exciting things possible. When you need one, you need one. Works fine and is of adequate quality. I used it for a video processor upgrade in a Mac.

Plugged in to my graphics card (Nvidia, which needed two 6 pin cables), everything worked fine. It would have been nice to know how long this cable was in advance. It's about 12 inches of wire, and 14 inches to the connector ends. Plenty long enough to fit anywhere it might need to go in my MacPro.

Worked perfectly in a 2009 Mac Pro. I was able to install a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680 graphics card without any problems. The cable is a good quality and not to thin. You will need 2 of these cables for this card.

Nothing to add. It's a cable. Either it works or it doesn't. The price is right. Lots of sellers will try to nab an extra $10-$20 for this cheapo item. Stay away from them. They're not selling you anything you can't get cheaper everywhere else on the planet.

So my buddy gave me a Radeon HD 6770 to replace the stock GT 120 in my Mac Pro 4,1. Well the card he gave me did not come with a power cable to hook to the motherboard. After some googling I stumbled arcoss this one and read some reviews and it was exactly what I needed. Got the new video card installed and up and running!! Great product and quick shipping!!
