Deciding on what case I wanted to buy for my Kindle on a difficulty scale ranked somewhere in between trying to get college financial aid working and preforming a self appendectomy.
There were so many choices.
I'd look at one review and see that a case I was interested in was excellent and that I should buy it right away. I'd look at another review for the same product and it would swear that the case snapped their Kindle into a thousand pieces.
Being rather partial to my Kindle, I became hesitant. For an hour at a time I'd look at top 10 lists, at customized covers or at the various cases that Amazon offered, but almost none of them made me feel secure. There always seemed to be some type of risk, and for the longest time I found myself unable to settle with any of the cases.
Eventually, I settled for Amazon Kindle Leather Cover. Designed to hook into the Kindle instead of strapping it in, it offers no risk of destroying your precious Kindle, and the case itself is sturdy, seeing my Kindle safely through falls and air travel.
The case itself feels great to hold and gives the Kindle a more complete feeling. Ever since I've gotten my Kindle, most of my sentimental feelings towards any form of the physical reading experience has more or less disappeared, but despite that I love how the Kindle feels when I'm reading it within the case. On top of that, the case is capable of standing up on it's own, making it so you can read hands free, though I can't attest much to it's ability to stand up, especially with how hard it is to press the "Next Page" button.
I've heard some people complain about the smell, but I can assure all of you that unless you intend taping the Kindle to your face, you will not smell it, and that after three weeks, I cannot smell any type of remaining odor on it whatsoever.
My only real complain for the case is that the strap the fastens the case just feels odd to set up, but such a complaint is really trivial as it never bothers me in the slightest.
For those of you who want a nice, sturdy and affordable cover that will keep your Kindle safe, this is as perfect of a choice as I could have found. It's kept me Kindle safe during the last three weeks of travel and I could not recommend it anymore highly.
Elegant Moleskine look
The cover looks elegant and discrete, the rubber band is useful because it ensures that the cover will remain closed when carrying the Kindle inside a bag. It definitely makes me confident that I can carry my Kindle anywhere, and I personally like the Moleskine look. Only two defects, at least in the cover I got: 1. The surface of the cover is not really even, I guess due to some glue lumps. 2. The rubber band exerts pressure on the sides of the cover and causes it to bend a bit.
