It is remarkable what TLC has managed to turn into a viable reality show.

For years cooking shows have been the staple of specialty programming, and with Cake Boss, cakes are the stars of the show. The bakers/designers are the window dressing, and for half an hour at a shot, viewers can imagine that Buddy Valastro and his staff at Carlo's bakery are working just for you!

It doesn't often get better, bigger, tastier, and more ornate than that.

Season 2 takes us into zany adventures like cakes for Drag Queens, Sesame Street, 50 cakes in 7 days, Retail Bakers Association, aquariums, and more. Working in retail for many years, I never experienced clients like this!

The bonus features are Sauce boss that includes:
Linguine with Giant Shrimp and Baby Spinach
Mushroom Risotto
Mama's Sunday Sauce
Brocoli Rabe
Chicken with Potatoes and sausage
Pink Sauce
Fra Diavalo

This is a cool show that far out entertains many of the other entries at TLC.

Make my next case a Carlo's Bakery Cake!

I REALLY ENJOY WATCHING THE PROCESS OF THEM MAKING THEIR CAKES AND THE END RESULT, I AM NOT SO THRILLED WITH THE FAMILY DRAMA THE SISTERS HAVE TO CAUSE IN EACH EPISODE, EACH SEASON, I UNDERSTAND FAMILY COMES FIRST BUT WOULD ENJOY MORE CAKE DECORATING AND LESS FAMILY DRAMA.

Cheers me up after working a long day with leaders that are sometimes toxic or hard to work with. Although, I like shows like Scandal and Game of Thrones, sometimes this is what I found that helps give me more positive entertainment. It's also good for me to see hard working family run businesses that have great natural goals for good service to their customers and employees due to their family heritage, family traditions and strong family bonds.

Let me start off by saying I am not much of a reality TV person. For the most part they are just too much drama for me. That being said, Cake Boss, as a series, is so much fun. The show centers around an Italian family and their bakery in Jersey. While there is a little drama to it (as is bound to happen when families work together), most of the show is about the owner/head decorator Buddy and the AMAZING cakes he creates. I is fascinating to watch how he is given an idea and runs with it to make an edible work of art.

Season 2 continues following Buddy as he makes everything from a pizza and a motorcycle to Sesame Street and an aquarium cake with live fish.

If you are a fan of cake, this show is for you!

Absolutely love this series! Was given as a Christmas gift while I was deployed. Best part of my day was getting to watch an episode or two before going to bed. His baking is enspiring, his interaction with family and bake staff is very entertaining. It's like Sopranos meets the bakery, I love it!
