It does not allow me to do anything. It doesn't even let me configure the settings for the pluggable USB. Be careful with this product. Look at the one star reviewers before you buy! Most of them state after a certain amount of time, it will stop working. I have uploaded videos so you guys can see for yourselves.

I recently purchased this product based on the 4.5 customer ratings. I am using this for a third monitor as I was already running two. The installation was very easy and I am using the HDMI port on this device connected to the USB 2.0 on my computer. I would consider the overall set up as a no-brainer. I am using this in the "extended display" mode whereby I can have separate applications opened on each monitor and my mouse movement is from left to right across all three monitors and oh yes, I am running this on Windows 10. Remember, that you have to buy one device for each additional monitor. One device does not support multiple monitors but as you can see from the display, you have different port options i.e., HDMI, VGA and DVI. I hope my review helps. I am satisfied.

This adapter is very compact and works as advertised. I have only used it a few times so far but am happy with my purchase. I paid about $10 for this item. I just got upgraded to a new laptop that only has HDMI and needed an adapter to connect to the VGA projectors in my office. Connection is effortless; just plug it in and it works. If I have any trouble in the future, I will update this review.
Update1: I have been using this adapter for 3 months now. It continues to work well; no problems whatsoever.

Woks great on windows 7 if you have 3.0 port if not you will only have 800x600 which basicly is useless for most applications. So make sure you have the 3.0 blue USB port and you'll be fine.

I needed to connect 2 monitors additionally to the main one in my laptop, I could do ONE using my laptop's VGA port but I needed one more, so I did some research and I found that I needed a USB 3 VGA Graphic Card Adapter, so like anyone, I searched in Amazon and sorted the results by price lower to high.
I learned that there are some "Converters" which are merely that, a cable that converts the plugs formats and that can go from a couple of buks to 10-15. Well, I learned that I needed something more than a cable, it has to be an actual Graphic Card, external that gets connected to the USB Port.
Then I found some Chinese Generic ones for 10-20 buks, so I ordered one hopping this would be enough, c'mon, how hard can it be to connect a monitor?.
Well, the generic thing came with a minidisk included and no more. Now, rise your hand who's computer comes with a CD Drive !!!, exactly !!!, those things are from the last century !!!.
No name or web page or anything in the package that could tell me where could I download the drivers from. Thats probably the meaning of "Generic" ?
I contacted the seller and he was very happy and willing to help me, unfortunately he was not able to provide me with a support website or anything.
I managed to borrow a last century Laptop, heavy as hell, from a friend so I was able to copy the drivers to an USB Flash.
Installed the drivers as I assumed I should do (remember, no manual), my monitor flickered and I rebooted my computer, and voila !!, my 3rd monitor started working like a charm!... But then I noticed that the line in the monitor were not straight lines as they were supposed to be, then I thought, well, you get what you pay!, but I was willing to accept that as a small price to pay.
But then I noticed that my mouse started slowing down gradually, to the point it was not responding anymore. In IT you know that "gradually" means a memory leak or generically speaking, a bad or poor codded program is running gradually degrading your system's performance.
So finally after 15, 20 minutes, a flat line !!, Code Blue !!!, Clear !!!, RCP, 1, 2, 3... Clear !!!.
Death, the thingymajiggy stopped sending the video signal to my monitor, it was working internally, cuz the monitor was awake and my mouse was able to hover over... just not Video Signal, all black.
The vendor offered to send a replacement, but I had learned my lesson... you get what you pay.
You all know the end of the story by now, I invested a few more buks and its being already a couple of weeks, no problems at all, web page with support and drivers to download.
Long story short, this thingymajiggy DOES WORK LIKE A CHARM!!!
