    As the title says, this adapter is Solidly built, and works Properly!

    I do hope the 4 that got bad adapters either had them replaced, or refunded!

    Mine works fine and I like it. I noticed one reviewer said he now has stereo by using this.
    This adapter will NOT get you stereo output, from a mono jack.
    This simply turns 1 single channel into 2 identical channels.

    I use it in my mobile radio jack, to connect a set of good computer speakers to my radio, that I use as a base station.

    As for quality, it fits perfectly into my 3.5mm mono female output, on my radio,
    then I've plugged in my set of computer speakers (that has a 3.5mm stereo male end), into this adapter.
    I get no loss of signal, and no distortion, or interference.

    I would recommend this to anyone needing this type of adapter.
    Heck, for 2.50 each, buy 2 just to make sure you get a good one!

    No sound, nothing at all. I should've listened to other reviews. I was trying to use this to connect a lab microphone to a Gopro Hero3+ and nothing happened, tried it on other devices and still the same results. It's a simple little metal piece, and it feels very sturdy, I had high hopes when I received it, basically I just wanted it to work. I wanted to make my mono microphone into a stereo input, I knew it would now give me true stereo, but I just wanted a stereo audio waveform to come out, regardless if it was the same on both streams. But I guess I'm stuck with manually creating a stereo stream in my editing software.
    Thankfully amazon gave me a refund without having to send the little piece back. Thank you Amazon for such great customer service.

    Works as advertised. I used it on a tour where a mono wireless receiver and earpiece were provided to hear the tour guide. I brought my own, better grade, headphones and used this to get sound to both ears. I could hear the tour guide in noisy environments where others in the group couldn't understand anything being said. It greatly enhanced my tour experience. Only minor problem was that if it was inserted fully, the sound was only in one ear. But when I backed it our slightly it worked perfectly. This was probably more a deficiency of the receiver than the plug.

    Best to use it with only TRS headphones/cables. The TRRS headphones that I have for cell phone use usually end up playing on only one side. It'll play to both sides with a little tweaking but I don't end up with a very secure connection. Planning to use this for a DJ setup and if the connection isn't secure ... it'll make loud "crinkling", or possible "popping", noises in the sound system.

    Otherwise, seems to work well enough with regular headphones (no mic). I would still suggest letting it rest once plugged in to the sound system though.

    I am deaf in one ear. Stereo devices only give me one channel; Right or Left. My Mp3 player does not have a Mono option. Ear Buds, and Headphones are stereo, and I have one bud dangling. Mono-buds I've bought from, $2.00 to $25.00, have one speaker, but a stereo plug. This gives me only one channel.
    This Mono Plug is compact compared to a plastic one I have. Any Mono Plug combines Left and Right channels together to speakers. The difference is subtle, but definitely different and more complete.

    I bought this mono adapter to convert stereo ear buds, or stereo headphones to mono. I bought a Pocket Talker (also sold on Amazon) hearing amplifier that accepts mono ear buds or headphones, and I wanted to use my iPhone ear buds with this unit believing the iPhone ear buds are superior to what came with the pocket talker. My iPhone ear buds have a volume control switch on the wires to the ear buds, and the plug is slightly different than a typical stereo ear bud or stereo headphone jack. However, to make this short, I plugged the iPhone ear buds into the mono plug adapter, and plugged that into the pocket talker. Sound only came out of one of the two ear buds, which means it didn't work. All I can say for sure is that this adaptor does not work with iPhone stereo ear buds with the volume control switch on the ear bud wires. It might convert other stereo plugs, but I don't know. From what I know of stereo to mono adapters, where the mono adapter contacts both stereo channels into one mono signal, this should have worked. I also think the build quality of this adapter is poor. The plug on mine is not straight with the housing, and it took a major push to insert the stereo plug into the mono adapter. I'd recommend buying a better quality mono adapter if you need one.

    I bought these to adapt Panasonic RP-HT21 Lightweight Headphones with XBS Ports to the receivers for Assisted Listening System 75.9 MHz by Peavey. You can check the specs on both products. You can check the specs on this product. They are supposed to fit together. They don't. The plug of the adapter doesn't fit the jack on the receiver. I have wasted $3.30 times five.

    I don't trust Amazon on a possible return. When I returned a disk drive, without advising me ahead of time, Amazon subtracted shipping both ways and a credit they gave me on a totally separate and unrelated transaction from the $45 price of the drive and refunded me $17.xx. You're better off selling an item you need to return on Craigslist. It's easy to return stuff on Amazon, but refunds are less easy.

    thought i ordered the wrong one ,but when i got it it was exactly what i needed. plugs into my ham radio and now i can use stereo headphones,just plug headphones into the new plug .now i can hear with both ears instead of just one side of the headphones. great product works excellent.
