Blue Drop is more about character depth rather than action, that has to be said straight up. The anime delves into characters and develops the main subjects and explores how they view and feel in the world. The growth of the characters is the focus of almost every single episode so anyone looking for pure action or just mindless entertainment, this is definitely not the anime to fit those tastes. However, if you are into evolving characters and plot over a steady pace, you will enjoy this anime alot. Parts of it may seem to have no point or just bore you, but trust me, every scene in this show has it's reason to be there.

TL;DR - If you like characters and story, this is the one for you, otherwise, keep searching.

Definitely recommend this series!

I loved the anime took me awhile to get into it at first. This anime is supposed to be yuri for those that don't know that's lesbian themed literature. The problem I had was I feel there could have been more romance between the two main characters if I didn't know it was yuri I would assume the two main characters Mari and Hagino were just two girls who became great friends I wouldn't think they were in love with each other. The mangas are a little more explicit and I feel the anime could have had a little more of a romantic feel to it between the two girls. Just my opinion all in all I loved it and it griped my heart at the end.

This series is a coming of age story about a girl and her classmates/friends in a all girls high school. There is also an element of Science Fiction in it as an Alien who was sent to Earth to gather intelligence is one of her classmates. The story itself is about what happens just before an alien invasion, and how everyone relates to one another. It is also a love story, if you pay attention, there are a number of times when you might not notice that some of the girls have crushes, the clues can be subtle. Like others have said it is really about the characters and you get to watch them grow. I put his in my watchlist because I thought it was more about the prelude to an alien invasion. Turns out this is more of a chick flick than an action series. Even though it is not my usual cup of meat I watched it and it was OK. The animation for the most part is simple, however, the alien ships are quite magnificent. The beginning and ending songs are great.

I found this series by pure chance. Still not sure what made me start viewing the story. I am so very glad that I did. I enjoyed everything about this series. The story line was wonderful. The story boards were beautiful. The colors were magnificent. The music was awesome and the vocals by Suara were absolutely beautiful to hear. I absolutely thoroughly enjoyed this series. Hai

I agree not your normal action romp, from taking care of a baby, to taking care of each other, from the beach to the school If you take it right it is something you will enjoy and return to enjoy again.

I liked this one; it kept me coming back and watching the next episode. The only thing I would point out is the character's mind set is not mature in perspective; they're still kids, they think and talk like kids. I do feel like more could have been done with this anime, however, I still came back for the next episodes.

Great plot, nice anime, more a drama then anything else. Blue drop is something I watch once then a few weeks later watch again. It is by far not a guy anime. If you prefer action, horror or polite feminine characters then this anime is not for you.

This is drama, all girl school life, with a mix of attitude, mystery and invasion plot/aliens.

I was really hoping for more out of this one, given how much the subtlety and depth of relationship are talked up! It had some subtle points, but was sorely disappointed at the depth. If you like the first episode, be sure to stick around: The first half is quite slow and vague, but gradually picks up and opens up (perhaps in a failed meta-narrative about lesbian relationships?)

Pros:
-Subtle relationship drama
-Solid voice acting
-Good animation quality in both 2D and 3D
-Macross-style ship combat
-Interdimensional space lesbians!

Cons:
-Futuretech military segments poorly interleaved with modern schoolroom drama
-Shallow plot with no ideological foundation, no resolution
-Relationships are all superficially motivated, and not explored to any depth
-Essentially seven episodes worth of content stretched across thirteen
