This season was one of my favorite of the whole series and I am a die-hard SVU fan. Even though I can watch the reruns on USA Network, I have been waiting patiently for this season to be released. This season offered more tension between Olivia and Elliot than any of the others and it also showed more of what made Elliot, Elliot. The show has concentrated on the character of Olivia for so long I feel like I have a good grasp of her (and boy has she come a long way since the first episode). This season gave Christopher Meloni a chance to shine more. He is a great actor and deserves more credit. This season gives him the attention he deserves.

As for the original Law & Order, I like the newer versions better (and the earlier ones when Sam Waterson starts playing the ADA). Just ask anyone in my family and they know by heart that all the L&O's are my favorite shows!

Some of the episodes are great. Some episodes are pathetic. Criminal tells cops he murderd a woman and child. Cops arrest and prosecuter charges def and the judge throws out the case because defendant confessed without his lawyer present. That would not happen as depicted in the show. If defendant starts spontaneously talking and does not demand an attoney that will be admissable in court. Exaggerations ruined a few episodes that could have been fantastic without the ridiculous situations that do not happen during murder trials.

I like all of the SVU episodes, they come up with some very strange stuff. Dick Wolf has a habit of cutting off the endings and leaves you wanting more and wondering. Show has run for 19 seasons now that says something. The only other series to run any where near that long other than what it spun off from was ER.

I love Law and Order: SVU and have been a fan for many years. The Special Victims Unit deals with crimes of rape, incest, and child abuse to name a few, topics that were often ignored on TV before this show came out and opened the forum for discussion on it. I also think it's empowering that the detectives in any rape case encourage the victims to come forward and get help because so many victims choose not to for various reasons. Mariska Hargitay and Chris Meloni (Benson and Stabler) bring such emotion to their characters and they are both phenomenal actors and have such chemistry together that you love them as a team. Even though this show has been on for many years, they still manage to bring new topics and ideas to the episodes. The show is so well written and riveting and you are hooked from the "dunk dunk" sound in the first segment. Every episode is amazing!

Some notable episodes in this season were "911" where a call from a little girl named Maria who says she's locked in a room brings Benson to be drawn into her life and keep her on the phone when others say it's a hoax (Hargitay did a phenomenal, emotional performance worthy of her Emmy!); and "Venom" where Tutuola's son asks Benson for help regarding a conversation he overheard about a murder in an alley after he's arrested as a suspect. Attention turns to his cousin Darius (Ludacris) which reveals a shocking family tie that he is actually not Tutuola's ex-wife's nephew but her son! Ludacris's performance as a devious criminal was amazing! As with any other season, you won't be disappointed!

I have all the seasons and enjoy the show. It has a lot of drama. I like that the episodes go from catching the perp and then prosecute them. There is a great story line and keeps you watching from start to finish.

Ok.. more so then the other episode i reviwed what the heck does this have to do with SVU. this was not a sexually based crime. at all. other then the fact that a hooker found the body. That and the real SVU doesnt even investigate murders (which can be let slid) but the fact is. it seems another episode with a political agenda about gambling addictions....

But this has nothing to do with sexually based crimes as the tv series was made to better understand why such things happened this is about gambling. nothing more. This would have been a good Law and Order or CI episode but does not really fit SVU at all. If your going to make a TV series with one focus you should try to stick to that focus

and i thought the whole act of the lawyer who supposively is very pricey to get using "gambling addiction" as an excuse a bit lame. Just seems more of a political soapbox about gambling addictions rather then having anything to do with SVU or a sexually based crime....

I have been receiving this series as gifts for my birthday, mother's day, and christmas. I have always enjoyed this show and now I can watch it any time and not miss anything or pause when I need to. I love the show period. It is hard to watch some of the scenarios but I enjoy how they make the main characters real people, warts and all. Hope more people enjoy it. I am sad they are on their last season but hope to own the entire show seasons eventually.
