This is a show Starz barely advertised at all, then cancelled way too soon. I was surprised to see it receive a DVD release, the way they treated it. It's obvious they didn't have any confidence in it, which is a shame, because it's easily the best TV show they've produced.

The show isn't perfect--the low budget is often distractingly apparent, and some of the acting isn't good, but it is truly one of the most unique and unpredictable TV shows I've ever seen. I'd put it right up there with Twin Peaks and Lost, in that regard. There was NO way to tell what was gonna happen next week.

All this to say, I was hooked, and sad to see it go. There are beautiful moments from this first (and final) season that'll stick with me forever, and I look forward to experiencing them again with this DVD set.

I would have given this show 4 stars if it wasn't for the creepy, fake cop. I feel they spent way too much time on him. This was a rather strange look at suicide attempts, putting a comedic spin on it while they worked in a group to support one another. At the same time, there were some touching moments that made the show worth watching. It was obvious that the show wasn't meant to end at the 10th episode. Too bad they couldn't have given some closure to the story.

With sooo much garbage on prime time it's the few gems like firefly, finder and this that I usually find too late; like many do. It's a dynamic first season, I laughed out loud some shows and even teared up on the last episode. The acting was good, the characters unique, and the story was there too. The only down side to watching this series is knowing it was just getting started so you'll be left wanting to see more.

I've known people who did kill themselves. Were they more screwed up than these people who weren't successful? Not really so it doesn't necessarily clash with reality on this basis. Do people who try to kill themselves all hang around with one another and even have relationships with one another? Well, although I do think they may be in group therapy together, I do doubt that anyone thinks it a good idea for them to band together as couples. It is an awfully big risk having twosomes who share this profile. So I suspect there is a lot of artistic license going on here. However, some interesting things are going on with some interesting characters. The most interesting is also the most comic, a guy who claims to be a cop yet is curiously absent from the system. He even manages to make his colonoscopy prep pretty funny. If the series is trying for satire, it is the most successful with achieving it with his character. I'd say this is probably a 3.5 star series at this point.
