I purchased this cable to use with the JAM Party Wireless Boom Box (Yellow) HX-P730YL, also sold on Amazon. One thing I did not see on the user reviews for this cable: there are a few sizes for the barrel power connector side of the cable. I took a stab at it and lucked out. So, for the JAM boom box, get this cable with the "N" connector.

I purchased the 2 meter long model, which cost the same as the 1 meter version, so why not? More flexibility, I say. Speaking of which, the cable is a bit more stiff than others I've used, but it's not a big deal. I've purchased several different cables from StarTech in the past and have never been dissatisfied. I'd recommend it to my friends.

Works well for converting to 5V USB power

These work great. I used these to convert 4.5V battery powered devices to 5V USB (links below) plugged into a USB AC plug. (Specifically, I converted LED candles and an LED light that use 3-AAA batteries.)

Exactly What I Needed

I bought a M9C Pro Android TV and there is a 5v input power adapter that comes with it but The thing that sucks so bad about the adapter is that it will hog outlet space and I thought a nifty solution would be to grab this adapter. Sure enough this fit perfectly and I have it plugged into an Anker 6 port USB charger alongside my Alexa Dot, a 10 foot USB cord to charge my phone, and Chrome cast. Reason for the 4 star review is that the cord could be a little longer. 3feet just isn't enough. If you buy make sure to pick up a male to female USB cord to give it a little extra length. Plan to buy another one for my Cctv converter

Not too much to write about a cable. I recently purchased the HMDX Jam Party bluetooth stereo speaker. The speaker only comes with an AC charger and the USD to DC charging cables I own, from other speakers, were too small for the connector on the Jam Party. I was going to return the speaker since I didn't want to have to carry around a fairly large brick charger. I decided to first check Radio Shack to try and determine the connector size. It looked like 5.5 mm on the outside and gambled on the interior size (. After a quick Amazon search, I came across the Star Tech USB to 5V DC power cable and purchased it. Luckily, this was the correct size connector and it does works to charge the speaker. It is a pretty thick cable compared to others and well worth the $5+.

Good purchase for my use.

Be sure to measure first

Like others, I ordered the wrong cable, however it does not help that no one tells you how big a type H barrel is...

It is difficult to measure with a ruler, however I make the outer dimension to be a hair over 3mm and the inner dimension to be just a hair over 1mm.

According to RadioShack's website, their AdaptaPlug Type H is 3.40mm OD and 1.30mm ID, so perhaps this is the true measurement.

I read multiple statements that said the Seagate Goflex Satellite external hard drive used a Type H, however it is too big for this particular hard drive: Seagate Wireless Plus 1 TB Mobile Device Storage with Built-In Wi-Fi Streaming (STCK1000100)

works perfect with the CTR-35 Cradlepoint

I bought this to use with my CTR-35 Cradlepoint and I just wanted to confirm it works perfectly! My setup is pretty cool, I have a portable battery pack that I have and I use this cable to connect my cradle point to it, I then have my verizon aircard so I am able to have a mobile hotspot anywhere I go. I do also have a DC to USB plug for my car and use this as a mobile hotspot, but for example when I was traveling for work last week I brought my battery, this cable, and cradlepoint and was able to fire up a hotspot for everyone I was traveling with while we were stuck at the airport. One person had a Blackberry playbook connected, 3 had laptops and I had my laptop and Samsung Galaxy S2 connected.

This cable is great for powering the CTR-35.

If you're wondering, the center tip of this barrel has positive polarity. This isn't written anywhere on the packaging, but it's definitely the case that it's positive.

I also don't know what the maximum current capacity of this cable is. Given that it's based on USB, I'm guessing 0.5A is OK, and 1A is probably fine, but I might hesitate to go over that.

I used this cable to replace the 5V AC adapter that came with my HD HomeRun. It has worked great as a replacement -- I'm back up and HomeRunning without any trouble. I coupled it with a 1A USB charger that I had around, and I'm very happy that it all worked out.

A good deal.

ODROID solution (but watch current draw)

I use this with my ODROID XU3 to connect it to a large lithium USB battery. I have to configure it to boot & use 2 (of 8) CPU's in order to keep the current draw & voltage acceptable with this configuration. But it's fine for me when I need to run it on battery power.
