I needed the bigger tubs as I use Knox Gelatin for my Greek Yogurt... 1 Tablespoon adds 8 grams protein and creates a "cheesecake texture" to my daily non-flavored yogurt ... with a dash of sweetner, I feel like i'm cheating on a diet with the delectable "cake" ... makes my cold cereal THICKER too, when added to the bowl with a quick stir ... Helps me get calcium cause I need to add a tiny bit more milk due to the slight thickening (I use almond milk) ... You can add this Gelatin to any liquid or creamy COLD stuff to add protein ... Gelatin improves spinal disks

At the advice of my doctor, I've been taking unflavored gelatin daily for many years to strengthen spinal disks. Various local sources of capsules, packets, and added-value gelatin in containers were an unnecessary expense of packaging and unwanted vitamins. Fortunately Knox unflavored gelatin in 1 lb. cans is available online. I keep a plastic teaspoon measuring spoon in the can to add gelatin to morning juice (drink before it thickens too much)or coffee (stir quickly so it won't clump up). In addition to strengthening spinal disks, my "paper" fingernails have hardened. In addition, the gelatin is on hand for cooking purposes. Ordering a year's worth at a time stretched shipping cost, also.

Nancy's Joint Compound

I was glad to find this on Amazon after learning that my local wholesale grocer no longer carries it.

Not too many people know that gelatin contains both chondroitin and glucosamine, both of which are used widely to relieve arthritis pain. I prefer the whole food, besides which it's cheaper. I start with a mug 3/4 full of bouillon or apple juice, and put in a coffee measure (2 Tablespoons) full of gelatin. It does not need to be stirred as it will slowly absorb the liquid. Then I put a lid on the mug (my lid came from an old candy dish) and place it on a low-wattage candle warmer or mug warmer. In two hours or so I have a hot yummy protein drink ready to stir and enjoy. I do this twice a day so a 1-lb can will last a month or so. I really notice a difference in my pain levels from doing this.

Note: make sure the lid fits inside the top edge of the mug.

I was very happy to find several sources for bulk gelatin at amazon. I enabled be to compare prices and pick the cheapest product. Since I had been using Knox Gelatin for years I had no hesitation in ordering it. The price was a great improvememt over that charged in a grocery store. I much prefer measuring the amount of gelatin used in a recipe, rather than just emptying the the packaged product. The packages were reviewed several years ago, and it was found that the contents of the packages were not nedessarily aacurate. I am very happy with the product.

Great arthritis "supplement"!

I take a tablespoon of this daily in my smoothie and it has dramatically reduced the amount of arthritis in my shoulder. More people should be told about this easy fix for arthritis. Give it 1-3 months used daily. This is a lot cheaper than buying the boxes of gelatin at the grocery store with 4 packets that don't go very far. Just make sure you immediately drink the smoothie as this is gelatin and will make it thick quickly. I also clean my blender and sink immediately afterwards.
